    Summary
Inventory mass has been now enabled. This means that gravity will affect the ships based on their weight. The more items inserted to the cargo container, the heavier the container will be. The character’s weight is also calculated in the overall weight of the ship grid, but only if the character is actually sitting inside the cockpit. Mass is not calculated for stations. Additionally, a flying particle effect is now displayed on the screen, when the character or a ship is moving faster than 10 m/s. Lastly, we have added two new tutorials to demonstrate the essential survival elements of Oxygen and Energy. The oxygen tutorial covers the various oxygen related blocks, oxygen farms, generators, vents, bottles, tanks and ice, including their control panel functions. The tutorial also addresses the concept of creating an airtight room for pressurization. The energy tutorial starts with an explanation of how to recharge your suit energy which is followed by a series of small challenges that explain the behavior of power within Space Engineers and the different ways you can provide it.

Dev Note: Since the anticipation for planets is very high and many of you want to know about the current status, we would like to share some info so we will not keep you in the dark. Planets are still under development and they are the number one priority in the game’s development. After the first internal iteration and testing, and since the last time that we shared some info about them, our team came up with some fresh and great ideas that will make this feature even better! So we made the hard decision to prolong the development a bit more but for a good reason. We are planning to share more detailed info very soon, so stay tuned!

    Features
    - inventory mass
    - flying particle effect
    - tutorial scenarios

    Fixes
    - fixed issue with textures begin too blurry on DX11
    - fixed crash when jump drive aborts the action

    EDIT 07/31/2015:
    Update 01.093.012
    - fixed crash with turrets targeting
    - fixed crash in Havok when bumping to the ship
    - fixed inventory mass not correctly calculated on DS
    - fixed second medical room not turning on in tutorial
    - fixed drill inventory mass recalculation
    - fixed voxel grass missing

I hope this doesnt effect gravity drivers and center of mass of ships?

I approve. Been hoping to have to compensate for the megatons in my miner's hold.

I hope it does. More engineering.

At the moment, only mass blocks and connections to other grids effect center of mass. While that's not likely to change, this will affect landing on a planet!

Thanks for the heads up on the status of development. No arguing, no griefing here. More of these notices would be much appreciated regarding collective community concerns.

So we're making ships difficult to fly based on how much we put inside? I think that's great against Military ships

but cargo haulers are going to get screwed when they need to retreat and have no jump drive to scuttle out with

Does that mean that any ship is affected by gravity?

but... but.... that means I have to redesign my cargo ships..... cewl - back to the drawing board it is - I have been looking for an excuse to do so ^^

    Thanks for the update!

A little low on the bugfixing side, though, I think ;)

MAN i hope we get some better Thrusters at some point, this has the potential of really screwing all over large motherships and mobile stations, they're too slow as-is :/ i must do investigate how many additional Large Thrusters are needed...

a few people have been feeling nausea and vertigo due to not being able to see the direction they are going. the streaks help a bit and can be used to determine in the player is either in a planet's atmosphere or in cold space.

I really do wish they would prevent gravity drives from working.

There is even less reason to keep them around now we have jump drives. ;)

Yeah, the particles are a guide for getting a sense of your current vector. Humans expect to be able to calculate speeds based on parallax, but in space objects are so massive and/or distant that our brains can get screwed up trying to deal with moving without seeming to be.

It doesnt change anything since almost all gravity drive ships are simetrical. You will just need to do something to compensate center of mass moving cargo, which can be a pain on the ass

Step byyy step! Day byyy day!

I think it will and should definitely affect gravity drives and ship center of mass! It only makes sense.
