Reaver Shipyards are proud to offer this, the first instalment in our range of small ship offerings.

    Ursa-class Light Industrial

Role: Multipurpose industrial - current configuration: mining/cargo hauling
    Length: 25vx (~12.5m)
    Mass: 5,408,648kg
Cruising speed: ~45m/s (Max speed: 104.5m/s)

The mining configuration of the Ursa-class light industrial is a worthy first offering in our range of small ships. Ursa is a tough, capacious light industrial vessel, designed for mid-to-long range mining operations either independently or from a parent vessel. Nicknamed the 'Bumblebear' - for its unique blend of speed and power, as much as for its practical but distinctive paint job - this is the light industrial vessel you deserve.

Your cargo, on time, every time

Troubled by tight refinery deadlines, and worried about slow turnaround because your mining vessels aren't up to the task? Worry no more. Designed for an optimal cruising velocity of ~45m/s, Ursa's powerful engine block is capable of pushing this rugged little craft up to a staggering theoretical max of 104.5m/s! Warning: Ursa is not recommended for use as a self-propelled kinetic weapon. Such use automatically and completely voids your warranty.

    All-in-one mining

With twin-linked triple drills and a massive six cargo bays, you can say goodbye to slow mining speeds and frequent ore-offloading trips. Ursa has the staying power you demand, and the endurance you desire. When you feel Ursa throb as it slips into the sweet spot of an ore vein, you'll know you made the right choice.

Contact Reaver Shipyards today to place your order for the Ursa-class light industrial, or to commission your own custom ship design!

    CV-22 Raptor

    Role: Luxury civilian sports vessel
    Length: 15vx (~7.5m)
    Mass: 16,833kg
Cruising speed: ~75m/s (Max speed: 104.5m/s)

From our civilian design division, Reaver Shipyards have the privilege of introducing our inaugural luxury sport runabout, the CV-22 Raptor.

Raptor redefines luxury single-person runabout. Do you not yet know the joy of owning your own space vehicle? Worse, do you own a standard-issue personnel transport, an exploration pod? Set it in a collision course with the sun, because you need Raptor.

Powered by the potent R-10 block of 10 microfusion reactors, this aggressively styled vehicle is not for the faint of heart. Worried about fuel economy? You should be. Raptor laughs at economy. But once you're scorching the hangar floor as you punch the throttle to full, blinding peasants and the less well-endowed with Raptor's industrial-grade fore lights, you'll be laughing too.

Does the asteroid colony or orbital facility you call home have a local air-traffic speed limit? Raptor will exceed it. Raptor laughs at limits.

Raptor laughs at you. Why? Because you're not already behind its controls. Yet.

    Contact Reaver Shipyards today.

My very first ship. Full thrust forward uses about half power, so more speed or weapons could be added if necessary.

Not bad, as you now know since you tested it. :p Once I get the general basics of my station down, I'll try some different cockpit options.

It definitely works eventually (inerta and all that).
Make sure you shutdown the big ships reactor (You don't want to have to try and overpower its working thrusters and gyros). I used a small ship like this one (GUC prototype 001) to get that large red default starting ship rotating quite fast due to torque.

Lots of other similar interesting stuff to try with the physics. Check out Ironmike's video on using multiple kinetic torpedoes. I posted photos of an "axe thrower" using the same principles.

Shigesaki Heavy Industries (SHI) Karambit-class Point Defense Fighter

    1. Mass: 12,799kg
    2. Thrusters: 1 large, 12 small
    3. Gyroscopes: 3
    4. Intended purpose: Space superiority, point-defense
    5. Works best with:
Any - designed to defeat enemy fighter screen
    6. Works best in: Short-range fighter suppression
    7. Works best as: Point Defense/High Maneuverability fighter
    8. Dimensions: 9x13x5
    9. Misc info: With the need for a lightweight hyper-agility platform, Shigesaki Heavy Industries have answered the call with the construction of a Hyper-Agility Platform. Weighing at a mere 12,799kg, it weighs almost half of a standard space-faring fighter platform. Designed to fulfill the role of point defense and space superiority, the Karambit-class fighter sacrifices both armor and pilot protection to save weight in order to enter the Hyper Agility Platform category. While its extremely small size and hard-to-target silhouette stemming from a highly angular and minimized wing surface aids in giving it a reputation of frailty, one would be unwise to underestimate its firepower coming from its wing-mounted quad miniguns.

this is the first ship i ever built in SE, i call it the hyperion, the stats are aprox because i am lazy

    weight: 14,000,000 kg

    power: 9,000 gw

    gyro's: i forget but i think about 50 :)

misc: i dont really think its very "small" but its small for a large ship style, also, this bad boy is a lightning bolt!

    Spirit-Tech X-003 AKA "The Brick"

    1. Mass: 84,784 kg :eek
    2. Thrusters: 12 Large
    3. Gyroscopes: 8
    4. Intended purpose: Experimental testbed/heavy fighter/bomber
    5. Works best with:
    Light Capital ships
    6. Works best in: Assault/attack roles
    7. Works best as: Experimental design
    8. Dimensions: (Approx blocks) 6Hx13Lx15W
    9. Misc info: The X-003 was never intended as anything bit a experiment in power management, armouring and maneuverability. Quickly nicknamed "The Brick" for it's appearances the X-003 handles like anything but.

The array of 12 over-sized thrusters give the X-003 a turn of speed up to 104 M/s(the max I know) and maneuverability of a ship a third it's weight. This is helped by an array of eight gyros and the large quad core powerplant. It is this large powerplant that actually contributes to the overall shape of the ship. There were plans to add another two heavy duty thrusters to the design, but these were scrapped when the weight of armour started to become apparent.

The original plans called for a modular design. This led to there being extra armour acting as internal bulkheads in parts of the ship. This proved fortunate however as a couple accidents in construction resulted in internal workings(gyros) coming lose and exploding. Since damage was only to the armour plating these were replaced and work continued. While the design was intended to be a heavy fighter as the weight of the ship increased with it's heavy armour the weapons load out was changed for a new role concept as heavy bomber.

The original load out planned for the X-003 was two chin mounted gatling guns and for two missile launchers. When it became apparent that the design was going to be much bulkier than anticipated the weapons were upgraded with additional hard points. In the end the final load out was four missile launchers and five gatlings. An additional proposal for mounting kinetic torpedoes on the ventral surface has been floated but so far nothing has come of it.

In the end despite it's ungainly appearance and extreme weight the X-003 managed to meet expectations. If anything in speed it tends to over perform. Pilots reported a problem with making landings as the large thrusters tended to push the craft down more rapidly than desired. This resulted in at least one case of the landing gear blowing up damaging the craft. In the end, most of the design lessons learned from the X-003 were cataloged for use in capital ship design, rather than in small craft.

Weither the design will see frontline action remains to be seen.

Better to figure it out now on a small craft then finding out crashing your capital ship into an asteroid. Though I have to admit, that x-003 looks like a mean little bugger.
