this is great, but can we at least get some acknowledgement from the dev side that solar panels/batteries and disassembling certain items (like large steel tubes) are still broken on DS? do you guys even KNOW about these issues? none of the posts about these are getting dev responses.

Is there any drawback of the high tier tools? Because they seem to be quite cheap to produce.

I think variants rather than linear improvements for tools too (not just gun) would have been nicer (as in longer range / more energy-efficient / energy hungry high speed...). Otherwise this is just going to be an early game grind to get the best tools with no gameplay value.

So the gun is nice, linear tool upgrades a bit meh. Performance fixes always great ofc.

I assume this is just a base for future additions (flamethrower hype :pbjt:)

Usless "hot needle" update ... what matters is if I can play with friends!.........w8 for it........ No, DS after two years is still unplayable :( so much desinc (falling into texture, instant kills, things vibrating and moving around... )

why did people "disagree" with this? batteries not working with solar panels literally makes it impossible to effectively play on planets in survival. you can not survive on uranium on a planet.

    Nice!

Wish they would have demonstrated the difference in the drills as well in the video, but I guess I'll have to brave the mines to find out for sure.

is it still space engineers game or space marines?
various bugs with landing gear/wheels/pistons/connectors/and dying from smallest collisions still there,
and they are adding new personal weapons (i.e. i could understand adding shields and particle/beam/laser based weapons as high level blocks, but personal sniper/elite riffle....)
P.S. still there is no protection from orbital bombing.
with realistic settings welding/grinding speed/range is not limitation,
but size of backpack is, and auto using nearby storage for welding/grinding is not available for that game (i.e. only in medieval ...)

They do work for me, try turning everything else off. The power grid gives priority to all blocks first and batteries last.

So hand tools are great (much hype!), but are we going to have the same tiered approach to ship tools? A mk4 grinder on my ship would be glorious. Also the balance needs to be worked on because those items are very cheap to produce. At least in the video, I haven't checked it in game yet.

Also really happy to see the connector crash was fixed. That was beginning to bug me a lot!

    Great job guys!

How come I don't see the new tool variants in my G menu?

false. on a dedicated server, i have a structure with nothing but 40 solar panels in direct sunlight that claim they are generating a few MW. i place batteries in recharge mode and they do not charge. they get about 500w (0.5kw) and then stop. this is a long standing problem.

As far as my experience goes this was fixed already in a hotfix of last weeks update, at least for me.
    Also SUPERB update! Thanks! :)

I haven't read anything about disassembling large steel tubes being an issue. Since you clearly know a bit about it, how about you make a valid bug report?

    New tools? Great!
Checking the build cost: uuuh those definitely need some balancing! ^^

Depending on your just you can just flat start with T3 or even T4 tools right from the beginning.
