[1.181-1.181.105, MP] Turrets are not able to target hostiles

    They were not shooting hostile small ships for me, they did however shoot a neutral large block off of one of my ships when I turned on shoot neutral for a second.

    I seem to be having a similar problem, my base's Gatling Turrets will not target space pirate drones (small grid) and they remain motionless even though idle movement is turned on. I have not encountered any large grid hostiles yet, so I don't know how they react to them. I did try pasting a small ship into the world but this has made no difference.

    EDIT
    Played a little more and noticed a few other things:
    • Missile Turrets also seem to be affected
    • The turrets appear to function normally until an enemy comes into firing range
    • Will not target large or small grid pirates
    • Can still manually control turrets

    The base Turrets only work if you take over control manually. On automatic, they are unresponsive to any threat. This was really something that should have been checked before releasing the update. I had to turn off "Drones" in my game setup because they chewed the heck out of my base while I was having to manually defend it. Spent a lot of unnecessary time last night doing repairs instead of continuing my normal build. Please do better quality checks on the game, especially things like Turrets. I know this is Beta and have been playing SE for several years, but this latest update was full of problems that makes playing the game a real pain in the rear. We are your "free-test labor" for sure, but please do a better job on your end of checking out the basics before unleashing this stuff on your customers.

    Same Problem here:

    Turrets only target meteorites, but won't target hostile small or big Ships

    This is not just a "cone above them" bug. The turrets fire/stop at random, and with no obvious trigger. I sat in front of a stopped cargo ship for like 3 minutes and without either grid moving the turrets just kicked on and shot me at random. The turrets ALL shoot neutrals with NO PROBLEM. It was said that the changes made in the last update were "extensively" tested. It took me 10 minutes to see that connectors aren't working and that turrets were having this issue. Flying ships around shooting at each other isn't extensive testing. You literally could not miss these game shattering bugs with actual testing. My group of friends and I would be happy to help test new patches for you guys, just ask. Keen does amazing work, there were many great things done this patch, but then it falls flat with the community because major things were overlooked. And even with multiple postings about this, I hear very little from Keen about hotfixing. I had multiple people get their bases *DESTROYED* by drones because turrets ceased to function. Everyone I have talked to is pretty upset about it, please let us know what the bug is and when keen can have a fix out.

    Interestingly the turrets on spawned drones seem to work just fine but turrets placed by me or other players don't even if the ownership is set to pirates. They fire a few shots and then stop working.

    Note for all those who need turret functionality I just tested the ARMS mod and it seems to work fine as a temporary hotfix. Turrets target as they should

    Thanks but seems quite a big thing. Will it replace all existing turrets IA ? As I just want to fight against existing IA ships and stations

    Doesn't replace any turrets only affects the targeting system. So it works on vanilla and modded turrets

    ok thanks seems to works with this mod, and issue seems not fixed in .104

    No in fact sadly with deeper test on .104 fix it will not works on "vanilla" turret targetting, have to turn ON the ARMS targetting instead for every IA drone or base ... Tested on a very basic world with gatling turrets and interior turrets, the only thing they will shoot after with or without mod is Player and Connector

    I used the ARMS setup lancheur + mods

    This in solo and in MP

    I'm curious what the difference between the ARMS targeting and the Vanilla targeting actually is. As far as I know ARMS was completely unaffected by whatever broke the vanilla system. Only disadvantage is the installation process.

    I believe the vanilla one have been nerfed on list of modules to target as type of module and state of module. As it will works fine when targeting connectors.

    As of today's patch 1.181.105, multiplayer DS, turrets are still NOT firing at hostiles.

    this is quite sad, have to revert to 1.179 to be sure to avoid all theses 180 bugs and broken stuffs

    I just discovered this bug after flying my warship into the middle if a pirate fleet, the turrets did nothing at all, thankfully the server i play on uses the Energy Shield mod, so my ship was fine.

    Unfortunately, this issue has also plagued me in the same. Turrets will fire for a brief moment but cease to do so after seemingly random periods. <~< Also they ignore what you tell them to shoot at. Even if shooting meteors is off, they still fire at whatever was the original default setting it seems. :c

    No, I tested it last night using version 1.181.200 and they did not fix the problem.
