Badly need an eyedropper tool, for picking a colour from an existing block to paint another block.
If you hold a block over the color you want to select and hold [Shift + P] it will select the color of the block you are pointing at.
Aim at the block with the color (and, now, the Texture Skin) you desire, make sure the Block Ghost connects to it (meaning that you're not out of reach, as if you were to add a block) and press SHIFT-P. This selects the color of that block.
Hold a block over a block of the colour you want to copy and press 'shift-p'...
Just saying, incase nobody tells you..
There's actually tons of key combinations and uses the game doesn't tell you about, particularly for any features on the Creative Mode-side of things. We need a list for that. Didn't we use to have a thread for that?
It's about time someone told him how to do that!
But have you tried shifting the copy while holding a P over the colour you want to block?
Its all clearly found in chapters 4 trough 29 of the game manual that doesn't exist.
But no one RTFMTNE (Reads The Fun Manual That Never Existed) anymore.
Thank you for volunteering to write that manual, @Calaban!
Pretty sure it is outdated but there is https://spaceengineerswiki.com/Main_Page
Now with materials and colors, the paint system could use a good upgrade. Being able to assign colors/materials via my toolbar would be nice. I'd probably have color palettes assigned to 8/9 on the toolbar for rapid switching.
We had one ages ago. Not sure about validity though...
