Cant start the game

    Just yesterday I've purchased and installed the game.
    I've tried to run it however it keep getting stuck and not working.
    The splash screen shows up and after few seconds I get the message "Medieval Engineers has stop responding" and then it close.
    Anyway I could solve it?

    Hello Gothosan,

    We apologize for any inconvenience. Can you send us your logs files and config file they are located in (C:\Users\%your_user_name%\AppData\Roaming\MedievalEngineers) you can access this folder by pressing windows key and writing "%appdata%" and then you can enter "MedievalEngineers" folder. In this folder there should be "MedievalEngineers.log", "VRageRender-DirectX11.log" and "MedievalEngineers.cfg".

    I had this problem as well. Tried to uninstall and reinstall the program to no avail. I'm also running Windows 7 Pro, and my system is beefy enough to run the game.

    Who is the best person to submit log files to? I can do that later this evening.

    I tried this with my system (the Intel driver, *which isn't used*, was out of date) and I could get the game to start. However, now it says my graphical hardware is out of date....And I'm using a Nvidia 970 GTX bought last year that is fully updated (last available driver was 11/15/2017).

    It seems like the game is forcing itself to into software rendering mode for no apparent reason, bypassing my graphics hardware entirely. Before doing the drivers I did perform a full wipe of the game, including deleting the data in the User folder.

    I can post the log files soon.

    Hello Hydrohawk,

    Can you check your settings in-game (Options/Display/Video adapter) if there is selected your 970 GTX?

    Yep....I just checked that last night. Looks like it had defaulted to software rendering for some reason. Honestly, I'm not sure why it switch, as I don't even think software rendering was even an option before this update.

    Anyway, I switch to my 970 GTX and, after a restart, it started working flawlessly (very fun update, btw).

    So in conclusion, it appears that after the update, the game defaulted the graphic "device" to software rendering, and because I never updated my Intel chipset graphic driver (which I'm pretty sure I disabled in BIOS), the game wouldn't boot. Then it was simple matter of changing the device in-game to my actual GPU.

    Thanks for the information you provided. The tip about the Intel driver certainly fixed the main issue, though I'm hoping this doesn't happen again when another big update comes out.

    Have tried to update graphic cards but it did not work so well.. and still unable to play the game.
    Space Engineers does work for me, in the past I had similar problem with it too.

    I'm having the same issue, game crashes on startup, I did re-install the game but had the same issue on startup.

    1. Since the latest patch my game will not launch. I am launching on steam, and if I use steam to launch the previous beta (0.5.23 shovel stable), the game launches without error

    Downloaded the configuration file and set the screen size as well as window mode.
    Funny thing: on SE config file the video adapter is set to 0 and work flawlessly, but on ME it needs to be on 1 to work.

    Yeah, I'm growing suspicious of that. It's starting to look like someone confused the DXGI adapter with the WMI adapter, which is why the game seems to want to pick the wrong GPU all the time.
