Greetings Spartans and ... other humans.

I always loved the design and architecture of the ships from Halo, so I started creating my favourite ships in Space Engineers and tried to be as accurate as possible. I hope you like them. I added some 3D Render models to compare how accurate I worked

    These are all manually built

    Still a work in progress

This is how the ship looks now. It is the Paris-class heavy frigate "Grafton" (renamed it) as seen in Halo Reach. Many other players were concerning that it is too small. The original frigate is 535 Meters long according to HaloNation, and that equals 214 SE blocks. Nevertheless I was still proud that this ship looks so similar to the original.

On the left you see the Longsword. It seems pretty big, but it should be 75 m wide. I created it as a big ship what makes it a little bit blocky... there is a small ship version below.

this is another perspective of my eye-balled frigate. It has still no weapons, I will wait until there are better ways to attach custom turrets. But it features a really detailed interior. I integrated hangar bays, fire control, MAC control, med bay, reactor rooms, manoeuvring thruster section, bridge, main elevator and so on. I had to stack thrusters for better acceleration, I hope for bigger... much bigger thrusters!!

It has round about 100 gyroscopes and weights ca 30,000 tons. You can download it here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=194763240

This scene is inside the frigate, you see a sabre in the background (not by me, but I asked him to import it. Credit to KhaosKillR)
The pelican in the foreground is an adapted build of ATalkingRock, I changed some minor things like the exterior cockpit.

This is an older version of ATalkingRocks Pelican. He built his own frigate too, you should check it out!!!!

This picture shows the gunship version of my pelican on the left side. It is now really different from the Pelican of ATalkingRock. The ships in the background are not from the Halo Universe, but you could call them Halo inspired

From here, you will see imported builds!!!!! I didn't build these models MANUALLY!!!

I HAD to know it how big it would be in SE. So I imported a original size model into SE, it is 214 blocks long. I think the proportions seem pretty similar to my version :)

As you may guess, this is the imported pelican, maybe if I adjust the angle of the whole thing, it wont look so stubby... The thing is pretty big, you would be surprised...

Imported Longsword from Halo:CE. The Longsword in Halo 3 and Reach looks different, but I like both versions. 75 Meters wide, really really big if you ask me.

Scales in Halo are really difficult. Bungie developers often used different scales of the same models for the cutscenes. In Halo:CE the Autumn seems like 3 km long, but in fact it is only 1170. In the cut-scene with the Longsword in the hangar and the flood behind you, the hangar looks massive! But with actual models the Longsword doesnt really fit into the hangar. Books mix things up additionally. Pelicans dont fit into the side hangar bays of the frigates. In one scene in Halo 3 over the Ark you start with Pelicans off of the bigger main hangar of a charon-class frigate.

If you dont agree with me about the scale paradox in Halo, just read some of the HaloNation discussions.

after importing these ships, I wanted MOOOOAAAAAARRRR !!!!!!!!!!!!!

    So came up with this.

You saw it coming, didnt you?

    Such a majestic beauty :D 1170m long

I hope you enjoy all these !!!!! Please ignore any mistakes.

    Best regards

    I liked.

How did you import 3d models and turn them into ships ?

There are Youtube tutorials on the internet. You can import 3D mesh data into Autodesk Maya (Free 30 day trial) and convert them into the SE save files with a custom script for Maya. To get the correct size of the ships you have to adjust the size of the models in Maya.

All the preparations took me about 2 hours. If you want any specific model imported you can simply send me a link to the file. Or do it on your own.

This is a much better version of the Pelican from Halo:CE

I hope it will be possible to add transparent blocks for small ships, or the implement windows for small ships.
