Dead space like Doors Mod

Hi,
I was thinking about creating a mod for Dead Space style doors... but... well... I have no idea how to mod and i never had anything to do with modding.


How hard would it be to make a basic door mod?

Im looking at a few tutorials to get started and wanted to ask for tips or ideas that could help me considering this mod will be from someone
starting from scratch .
