Anyone having issues after the decision to separate dev branches?

    Mine's stuck on loading screen...

If anyone's able to check, here's my logs

The link is a folder containing the text files from SE's appdata folder (including cfg and log)

    https://drive.google.com/open?id=0Bw0o5Cj-WWayTTQwTkVJV055WEk

Note : it worked before, like months ago, and it worked smoothly, I think up until the branches got split.

This time, I ran it clean with no mods, even loaded the scenario packed with the game.

GPU : ASUS STRIX nVidia GTX 960, 4GB Vram
    CPU : Intel i7-4790 (up to 4GHZ)
    MB : MSI H97 Gaming 3
    RAM: 16GB of mixed vendor

If other things are necessary, just shout.

Does it do this for any world, or just a specific one? I had a lot of trouble loading one of my worlds for a while, and it works now, but takes about 15 minutes to load.

Well, I haven't tried waiting for 15 minutes since the before versions can load in 5 mins because it's a clean one.

The first one I used is the easy start earth, with some tweaking to the settings and no mods.
The second one is the stock scenario, the pirate hunting...stuff. Same, -long- loading times, but I didn't measure the time.

I did, however, alt tab outside the game when it loads, but I used full screen borderless mode, so it shouldn't be the culprit here.

When I say freezing, the loading "orb" freezes, not my system. But task manager says that SE is not responding also, so yea.

Edit : Oh yea, the main menu video is also gone. Only a static screen.

UPDATE: after 30 minutes and 45 seconds, still no avail.

UPDATE 2 : Tried a custom game using the empty world map, with literally nothing, loads after 2 minutes...

So it's just.... long. Maybe the planets is the culprit?

UPDATE 3 : Freezing on landing gear placement!
Note : The game still loads in background, as RAM usage still increases gradually (at 4gb, even though there's nothing in the world, still got headroom till 7gb)

I think the culprit is this, extracted from the .log:

2016-12-13 09:12:07.280 - Thread: 12 -> Exception occured: System.AccessViolationException: Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt.

UPDATE 4 : So... I managed to build a ship ( cruiser-sized ) in the empty preset, and I am now able to load it again, at least got past the loading screen, but it freezes just then. It continues to load in the background however, like mentioned in the previous case.

UPDATE 5 : managed to reload the said savegame by deleting corrupt savegames and the lastsession.sbl and lastloaded.sbl. Then freeze and had to kill it when pressing G (the "inventory" button)

UPDATE 6 : same as update 5, but reproduced freeze by copying ship also.

UPDATE 7 : Removed "system" and "administrators" permission, disabled inheritance, and gave full control to me (redone) in SE's appdata folder, copying ships is now not a problem. Will start a new world on Earth.

UPDATE 8 : Same problem recurred. Stuck on loading screen, memory leak

UPDATE 9 : I can confirm that the culprit is SE's appdata folder, and the lastsession and lastloaded SBL files. However, still doesn't explain why it won't load Planets.

UPDATE 10 : So... while the Appdata folder is partially the culprit, I think it's the Planets that caused the system.AccessViolationException thing, not the appdata itself. Maybe it tried to access a part of the RAM, or part of the Windows core folders, I can't find out.

Have you tried running some diqgnostic software to test filling and emptying your RAM.

Sounds like a you issue not a SE issue to be honest. Most people load the game perfectly fine with a system with half your specs...

I would suggest you to run memtest over the night, if you haven't, just to make sure the RAM is not faulty.

    Possibilities:
    1. Permissions for SE files are corrupt.
    2. Game is being run from restricted location, i.e. C:\
    3. Bad RAM
    4. Game itself is corrupt
    5. Some unknown config error

1,4,5 are fixed by reinstall, usually.
    If bad RAM, you're SOL.

I tried reinstalling, even. No go. Deleting SE's appdata folder? Same. Taking out, cleaning with rubber eraser, and placing it back (GPU and all three RAM sticks), same.

no, I ran it from B:\, a WD Blue 4TB hdd, which is not used by windows in any way except for page file.

Yes it was loading indefinitely, except this happened to all worlds.

The default windows' memtest or memtest86?

Memtest86, but could run both even.

UPDATE 11: Haven't ran the memtest yet, but there's some changes after 01.168: Starting a new game on Earth, the game ramps up to 2GB Ram usage, then continues to load up until 6GB, of which during the process used 200MB/s disk I/O, and then RAM usage drops to 5+GB then 4+, with disk I/O at 0. Now at 2,6 GB Ram usage with the loading circle freezing and the window unclickable, but task manager still haven't showed any signs of unresponsive program.
UPDATE 11.1: Log still says the same.

UPDATE 12 : Memtest went until 90% ish, with no error, but I had to cancel because I have to use my pc.
Tried re-seating the RAM, one by one : I have a set of HYPERX RAMs, 2x4GB, and 1x8GB VGEN. Tried detaching the VGEN, same mem error. Tried detaching the HYPERX, using VGEN only, same error. Suspecting disk issue on this one.

Testing for a disc error is easy enough.
Copy your Steam directory to a different drive.

I actually moved (by steam) the directory of SE to a different drive (also different physical drive), no avail.

Update : I have resolved the no video on main menu problem by uninstalling 4(5) programs :
    1. LG's Onscreen Control
    2. LG's Dual Controller
    3. TwoMon PC program (or sth.)
    4. iDisplay
    5. OpenIV (accidental, but probably not related)

    IT WORKED EVERYBODY!
