How to capture a Troop transport with nothing more than a Grinder

    Everyone keeps talking about removing that one warhead in the center near the cargo container. Are the other three bombs not there anymore?

    To add another strategy,

    Do similar to DDPs but stay to the side. Fine tune your position by turning dampers off and never go over 3m/s. You want the side rocket turret to pass over or under you. Behind the turret is a bulge, this is one of two side entrances. You want to duck behind it putting it between you and the turret. Keep dampers off and match the speed. Grind the cube between you and the turret, revealing a door, use the panel on the door to turn the turrets off and board the vessel.

    Thats how i do it at least.

    the first part of this plan is sound, but it's far easier to just grind through the ramp to the side of the catwalk, grind through 1 light armor block and make a 90 degree turn and grind out the interior block to access the main hallway, walk up to the door panel and turn off all exterior and interior guns and disable small thruster 28, then head to the cockpit on the lower deck and fly the ship back home.

    Military transport can be hijacked 100% clean and easy, without any grinding or welding.

    Line up with the flight path of Military Transport. Your target is top middle turret, and actually cargo container below it. Make course corrections but dont exceed 3m/s speed, when lining up with that top middle turret.

    When you get over the first block of front armors, gently give down thrust, and do final aiming to cargo container below turret. You will be in blind spot and can Access cargo container control panel to disable all turrets, interior also. Dont forget those. Now just walk inside to cockpit. Now disable all small thrusters on ships and you got yourself Military Transport 100% cleanly. :)


    EDIT: You can only disable small thurster 28 to disable the bomb.

    Once you get past the turrets, there is an easy way to get around the booby traps that is a little time consuming depending on the ship.

    First, get to a control panel or cockpit, which you have likely already done to turn off the turrets. Then turn off all Small Thrusters. If you're lucky enough to be in a ship with large thrusters facing all directions, then just fly it home like that. If there are only small thrusters facing some directions, then enable them one at a time and make sure you see an external thruster turn on. I number them as I go to make this easier. If you turn on a thruster and don't see any new ones turn on in external camera view, check all facings then turn it off and mark it as a trap. Continue until you have enough thrusters to get home with.

    tried this method in survival mode today... was NOT moving about 2 m/s and got shredded by a turret on one of the mining ships... does not seem to work anymore... unless you got lucky and were in the blind spot...

    It is fixed, you cannot exploit <3ms speed exploit anymore with any turret. Accuracy (tracking of turrets) is less effective on distance. But when you get closer, they will nail you down.

    Shoot missiles to weak spot, as in given this thread if you want capture military transport.
    There are 2 small backup reactors, so bring some uranium without and turn those reactors on after securing the ship.
