    Thanks, I really hoped to get some new large ship weapons by now, that's why I left so much unused space on the top deck. But it looks like it will have to rely on Gatlings, missile turrets and its four torpedo launchers.

    No large caliber cannons for you nameless cruiser :-/

    Speaking of: what name do you propose?

    Just saying, an array of sequenced small grid launchers are still heinously effective.

    @JD.Horx torpedoes! Also maybe "Manticore" or "Hydra" to go with the theme? Or maybe I've got your naming convention wrong haha

    You have the Military aspect of your fleet coming along nicely, but what about logistics? With out logistical support a fleet will not last long in enemy territory. Its been a while since you built your supply ship, and it is a bit dated (lack a Jump Drive for one thing), and has a small cargo capacity when compared with the larger ships in your fleet.

    I highly suggest build a fleet of logistical ship. You need several types of Logistics ship, a space base transport (equal to or greater cargo capacity as the current model), I know you have your drop ship but perhaps a dedicated orbit to ground transport? You could due with a mobile refinery and production ship, because its nice to have the capability to have a mobile production facility that you can setup where need.

    Plus keep in mind the 3:1 supply ratio.

    Say a ship has a combat load of 1 large cargo container worth of supplies and ammo, you want a supply ship to carry at least 3 reloads of Amos and supplies for that ship.

    Plus you should consider looking at some of the inventory scripts on the workshop, as they can make it where cargo containers will automatically reload with what ever you want in them with a simple command string.

    I've started using scripts in PvP these days and it makes reloading in between battles easier.

    Giant Project: 'Anchor' Trade Station
    250m x 250m, four hangars, docking bay on lower levels, small city on top levels
    I dont know if I will ever be able to finish this station. this is mostly an empty hull now, with four hangars, several cargo areas, a city on top and a reactor core. there is so much missing and I would love to fill this station with life, but it seems that SE cant handle the complexity of large AND detailed objects... :(

    Also working on:

    Update for Atlas-class FRIGATE.
    "A frigate is the smallest ship capable of operating all on its own" (if I recall correctly)

    So, if the Atlas wants to be a true frigate, it needs to be able to process ore and ice and it should have a small hangar. And here you go: Still equipped with many Gatlings for anti fighter capabilities, atmosphere ready and with a torpedo bay to strike hard!

    also able to fit through a 4x8 gap, took me a long time making a ship with the right format and a somehow satisfying appearance...

    This station is massive, I can understand how you are having trouble filling the interior. Ravric back in the day was building something similar (but on a larger scale... 1k which is nuts) he had set his up in such a way that his smaller ships Corvettes and Frigates could fit inside. On this station I think if you were to make to turn the hangars in to harbor entrances you could have room to dock larger ships inside. And I think (not know the full view of the interior) that it should be possible to make smaller hangar else where on the station for fighter and small block ships. This would eat up a lot of that empty space, plus other areas could be used for storage and production facilities. Heck we can even build a small ship factory inside. This has potential!

    Make a drydock, but it doubles as a military base, including barracks and the like.

    EDIT: And when I say drydock, I of course mean space...dock.

    just wanted to say that the new cruiser looks awesome. However I would think that the Talon anti fighter turrets from a mod (cant remember the name, ill get a link after school because I cant get onto steam rn) would be another weapon to consider for that ship. They are going on a defence platform section for my fleet that Im working on now. Modular station as well so its gonna be pretty cool. Small, Medium, and Large Station Sections, each one with a different set of weapons on it. Again, Ill send a link after school once i can get onto steam.

    Also, SE performance with large grids has improved significantly in the last few weeks, you might want to give the station another look :D

    What about a super heavy atmo special ship, you might not need it to be jump capable on its own, it could do with limited space maneuvering via hydrogen but the main idea would be to escort them with the hybrid specials to a planet and have a ship that works very well in atmos but would be difficult to build in that environment due to size

    I like that you are incorporating older design features into your newer ships. I seen this side Gatling setup on your old Pandora Frigate. I like the direction your taking the Cerberus! Look forward to seeing the finished product, so I can do a PvP overhaul ! ! ! XP

    Hi guys, haven't been around here for a while, thank you for the input. For the last weeks I've been a bit busy with Europa Universalis (and some ambition of world conquest) and put SE aside for a while since SE didn't seem to make much progress. Bug fixes and performance improvements are necessary but don't really make me scream out in happiness.

    I will fire SE up again to see what new possibilities come up with the additional performance so maybe I can make some progress on that big station. Also I have some new ships and reworks (like the Titan cruiser, the Atlas rework, the Osprey and the Cerberus) that are almost finished but not released yet. So those have priority before I come to something completely new.

    Though I'll maybe have to wait for a new PSU, my PC had a few unexpected reboots after I upgraded its video card.

    Well one thing the Atlas can do with is ground vehicle deployment facilities. Possibly with the ability to print them or atmo/space vehicles for the purposes of the mission, alternatively, you could build a very small vehicle to drag atmo drones and things into the hangar bays, and get them hooked to connectors, and forgo ground vehicle deployment for the Atlas completely, though that seems like a waste of a hybrid ship. almost.

    Those are basically all simple updates for my planetary builds:
    The Ocelot got 2 Gyros that are off by default but enable the vehicle to flip over by itself. It also looks nicer now...
    The Puma got some comfort features like pistons for tire replacement, lower center of mass, gimbaled camera, LCD-script and ion thrusters for better driving in low gravitiy environment.
    The Condor now has the LCD script by MMaster installed, more ion thrusters for better navigation in space and on moons and the G-Menu is better sorted. Also the camera now is better placed to pick up cargo.

    Edit:
    The Atlas is now a much more comfortable ship. It features a server room with Auto-LCD script (MMaster), Ship Diagnostic script(PH1L1P), Auto Door Script (Whip), and Torpedo Script (Rdav, Torpedoes not operational at the moment) for better operation of the ship.
    The ship got a complete facelift and improved weapon layout for defense against light attackers.

    Edit:
    The Osprey is my first really new ship since months. It is some kind of attack helicopter/dropship and can be used as cargo transport, troop transport or for air support.
    It features by default 2 Gatling guns, 2 Gatling Turrets and 4 rocket launchers, but can also be modified for purely civil operation.
    In atmosphere it uses mostly vertical thrust.

    Your subtle use of window shutters and yellow paint is beautiful. Really seals the deal on the Atlas- which is already a beautiful ship.

    Love the gunship. There's this sort of bulky "un-sleekness" which works really well
