Is this object the rotor is attached to, too large to rotate?

Anytime I have trouble with big rotor set up I use a small ship and landing gears to give it the first little push, and then they tend to work after that.

Sometimes setting max speed helps to start it aswell.

the motor function simply doesn't have enough programmed torque to set such large constructs into rotation. i have used gyros on the structure to start the rotation off using the left/right keys and a suitable aligned control point and then i delete the gyros.

one thing you need to make sure is that the HOST ship has enough gryos to prevent the host ship from turning against the motor as well.

Suppose I should have mentioned this is a station.

then simply install gyros on the rotating part and start it off.
oh and make sure the motor is ON

And possibly the parent structure being a station block so that it doesnt rotate.

The piece on the other side of the motor to the station becomes a Large ship entity.
