missing sandbox.game content

    Hello there. I pulled the project from the repository, and tried building it on visual studio. I get some errors. the main ones are of this type:

    Error 277 Metadata file 'G:\Work\Visual Studio\SpaceEngineers\Sources\Sandbox.Game\bin\x86\Release\Sandbox.Game.dll' could not be found

    And in fact, the Release folder ( same with a debug and release( official ) types of builds) is empty. Could you help me understand the problem?

    Is the Sandbox.Game project listed in your Solution Explorer window?

    Check all references! Some of them can't be found!

    P.S. can't rebuild x64 version. no 3rd x64 libs

    Make sure you are running the main solution file and not just a single project's solution. (\SpaceEngineers-master\SpaceEngineers.sln) you should see 15 projects loaded in the solution. And make sure the path is correct in the Global.Props file.
    I had to make changes to the properties of several projects under Build>Advanced>Output>Debug Info (set to anything other than "none")
    After about 3 hours of tinkering I finally got a successful build.

    It states on the project page:
    "We're unable to provide 64-bit version of all 3rd party libraries because of licensing. We're working on this and trying to negotiate better license which will allows us to do that."

    Thanks for the help, here's the situation:

    Yes it is.

    Could you elaborate? how do i check the references? from the configuration properties of the solution? if so, all the elements are scheduled to build.

    Actually, i see 14 projects in total :\ i double checked global.props, seems ok. I saw that several projects were set to pdb-only , ans so i set them to none.
    After that, i still get the same problem.

    Just Right click on solution and select Rebuild Solution

    Nope, doesn't solve the problem. I also created the user.props file, still the same. just to make sure i am not doing something dumb on the content path, this is the address i am writing: "G:\games\Steam\steamapps\common\SpaceEngineers\Content"

    Hi, is this all errors in the windows?
    Error 277 Metadata file 'G:\Work\Visual Studio\SpaceEngineers\Sources\Sandbox.Game\bin\x86\Release\Sandbox.Game.dll' could not be found

    It seems it's only last one. Please post all errors, I think one of the first will show where actual problem is.
    This says that 'Sandbox.Game.dll', but I could not be found probably because build of 'Sandbox.Game.dll' failed with some error.

    They should not be set to none. Also you are missing a project which is probably the reason the build is failing. There should be 15 projects in the solution.
    When I was getting set up I had some missing projects if I opened VS first and loaded the solution from the File menu, opening VS from the root .sln file by double clicking fixed that.
    Also If you are getting pop-up errors in VS, fixing those makes the build errors go away because the build errors are occurring because of a failure in VS.

    If you are getting pop up errors in Visual Studio, post some screen shots of your solution explorer or popup errors or google the first line of the error. You should see some appropriate suggestions for fixes on sites like StackExchange.

    That one is caused when the Templating suite fails or is not installed. When it does, certain code files won't autogenerate, and so, main compiling fails. Install this from MS: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40754
    If you can't install it, that means you have an incompatible version of Visual Studio. I had VS2013 Express, and had to replace it with the newer VS2013 Community with Update 4 (here: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=517284), which acts exactly as VS2013 Professional but with multi-user limitations.

    I've got similar problems. The build process fails because of DLLs missing. I'm using VS 2013 Professional, windows 8.1 64bit, building debug for x86 (Release also fails), the solution has 15 projects. I created a user.props that points the ContentPath to the steam content directory and set DataFromSources to false. I also tried rebuilding, cleaning, then rebuilding.

    The curious thing though is, that a few days ago I just cloned from KSWH to my desktop and it worked. But now I forked the repository, cloned it with GitHub for Windows to my local machine, added a branch, but didn't change any code and it fails. Below is the build output. Any ideas?

    Even when I clone directly from KSWH the build fails with the same errors, which isn't surprising, it's the same code.

    seems they put up new havok code, without supplying new havok libraries, just comment out 5th argument in constructor on those 2 lines that fail. and you will be able to compile.
    i expect Ondrej will fix this tommorow, there is already issue regarding that on github.
