My Survival Experience - Big Ship Building

    Well, it's very feasible to construct large ships in survival mode. I currently play on a 10x Inventory Size (way too tedious at 1x,) 1x Assembler Efficiency, 3x Refinery Speed server. It took me five days to construct a 2,960,000kg ship-station. Well, it took me three days to construct it, another two to make it mobile. It has one large reactor, sixteen refineries, ten assemblers, a conveyor system linking them all together and also to the cargo bay, six working large engines (one in each cardinal direction) with eight more unfinished, sixteen gyroscopes, a hangar bay made entirely out of heavy armour to avoid thruster damage containing a 36-drill mining rig, a heavy interceptor craft and an ore-detection scout. Performed solo. It IS possible, but it does take time, especially on 10-1-3. The craft is also completely enclosed, apart from the hangar bay.

    ive also been retro fitting ships that come by. the escort is my new missle ship. the blue ship near the spawn is being converted into a mining carrier. the hardest part of it all is the welding needed to build a suitable landing area to make the changes this way my stations gravity helps me work without the ship being at a funny angle.

    i have to say the welding time is excessive with considering the time it takes to get the matierials in place.

    i have a lot of work to do. i intend to build a slavage hanger with a collecter/conveyor system on the floor just so i dont have to empty my pockets every few mins.
