Suggestion Declined Option to hide images in signatures

There's currently a "Show people's signatures with their messages" checkbox. Would it be possible to add an indented checkbox under it to "Hide images in signatures"? Basically strip out all of the image/media tags, leaving only the text.

Forum sigs are fine most of the time, but some people have large images (Even animated gifs) that distract from the conversation. I don't want to hide signatures completely, but when a thread is full of 3-line posts with 150px-tall images that have nothing to do with the content, it's somewhat annoying.

Alternatively, the ability to selectively hide signatures on a per-user basis (Instead of all-or-nothing) would be just as helpful, as it's just a few people with those massive sig images.

 

Agreed. It would be nice to have a selective per-user ignore/image-strip for signatures. That way everyone can maintain their individual style and others can dynamically adapt to it.

It wouldnt be a high priority for myself, but i clearly see a use for it.

 

hide signature images would be enough for me, some signatures just make threads too long for scroll.
