Originally an Alliance Frigate, it has since been overrun and reconditioned into a boarding ship. The ship was originally commissioned in 2067. It was used as protection on the trade routes for the outer worlds of Alliance territory.
On March 7th, 2068 the Frigate, which was called USS Birds of a Feather, was escorting a merchant vessel through known pirate territory. The captain of the USS Birds of a Feather was going through his daily sub routines for the ship when the ship blared its alarms. Before he could hit the SoS beacon he was killed due to explosive decompression.
The ship had suffered a hit directly to the cockpit from an asteroid. The crew of the USS Birds of a Feather were quickly overwhelmed by the pirate forces that boarded the ship shortly after.
The ship originally had a docking port located at the bow.. The pirates reconditioned this area into a makeshift ship penetrator.
The USS Birds of a Feather has only been seen by alliance forced 4 times since it was overrun. Only during the third sighting did the alliance get to see what kind of damage this repurposed boarding vessel could do. The ship was sighted during an Alliance patrol. One ship was on location, The USS Midnights End. Upon seeing the pirate vessel the USS Midnights End went to engage it, before its weapons could come online the USS Birds of a Feather had impacted them sending the ship into a spiral. The Alliance shortly lost contact with the USS Midnights End after that.
If you see this pirate vessel heading towards you, run.

I made a story for my ship, I know it sucks, but I'm going to try to make some sort of story that all ties together with all my ships.

Such a shame that there is no way to remotely control a ship. I would love to send out a ship at about 50 km/ph and use ships like these to see what impact it would do when trying to board a ship.
I mean your ship should actually stick in the ship so you have enough time to board the ship.

Hm, when they add the Support for Landing Gear, means that a Small Ship can be placed in a moving Largeship, than you could start the Large Ship, switch off the Engine and get on Board of this little Ship to test it. ^^

I think landing on someone's ship with the Landing Gear is going to be restricted to only people who are in the same faction.

Otherwise it would be really easy to quickly board someone.

I've actually flew the boarding ship a ways out of the red starter ship, built a small but fast ship on the nose, made the boarding ship go about 30 m/s, hopped in the small ship, flew to the red ship, and watched the crash.
I had it on workshop but i saved over he workshop file by mistake.

well a ramming ship isnt very efficient as you would have to make extensive repairs to your own ship after every raid, ramming ships certainly isnt a tactic that would be used by pirates of whom would not be able to afford the resources of those repairs after every raid

Actually, ramming is quite a good tactic. There were plenty of naval ships that would ram into another in the past, I don't see why it wouldn't happen in space. Why go through an airlock where they'd be expecting you when you can just ram into it and create your own entrance? Sure the repairing would be quite costly, but if all you're doing is creating an entrance you wouldn't need too much force, therefore minimal repairs. Plus it's a video game and ramming stuff is fun. :)

Ramming works fine if you go slow. What I would do is dis able the ships engine then go into the side.
I'll post a video here soon showing what is possible.

i have idea for you, make ship from two pieces, impact and boarding part. with this http://forums.keenswh.com/post/projectile-weapon-working-6597498 you can launch your penetration module and then simply board the ship with boarding part! Thank me later, lol :D
