Will the 2.0 engine be open for mods?
If so, planned from early development, on release, or some time after?

I'm useless at programming, but I would love to be able to add parts to this game. Possibilities are endless.

Mods would be great, and I'd take a stab at building them if the core is mod-friendly. I'd create a bunch of warning and notification systems (radar, ews, collision, sysmon etc)

...maybe even an analog to HAL to manage ship systems.

What language is the engine using?

C# was modding for Miner Wars.

Non-programmer here that would love to work on modding. I've dabbled with C# and .NET, would love if there was a stable API right at release, I think that's way more valuable than actual vanilla content.

Whats the transition from Java to C# like? Is it hard? Because I would like to see what I can do once modding is supported.

Easy, IMO. Some strange things but for the purposes of game-programming type things I don't think you'll really run into much. Except for maybe type aliasing and operator overloads.

I wrote this in August, but thanks :)
