    Hello, Engineers!
We plan to run a public test of new multiplayer improvements from Thursday, May 31 at 11AM to Friday, June 1, 5PM (GMT +2). Keen Software House admins will be managing the test for the whole period and we'd like to get your feedback about the "work in progress" version of the game. The upcoming version focuses on a number of Space Engineers multiplayer improvements, so we hope you'll enjoy it and that you'll provide us valuable feedback before the actual release.

    MP test.jpg

We are aware of some unfinished things and bugs in this version. We are going to fix them right away, but we didn’t want to postpone this public multiplayer test any longer. For providing feedback, a questionnaire will open up after closing the game.

We plan to run these multiplayer tests until we are fully satisfied with the results.

    Steam branch: mptest
    Password: nt7WuDw9kdvB
    How to change branches:
    1. Select the game from your library, right click and select properties.
A dialog box with a number of tabs will appear, your looking for one that says "BETAS".
    2. You will see 2 things now, a drop down menu and a text box to enter a beta access code. Enter the password provided here and choose mptest branch from the drop down menu.

    EDIT:

    Hello Engineers!

We really apologize, but due to technical difficulties we have to postpone the Space Engineers multiplayer test to tomorrow (Friday, June 1). We will start at 11am CET (GMS +2) and it will run until Saturday, June 2, 5pm CET (GMT+2).

Very good to hear! I will be checking into this most definitely; as a few of my design's programming has only worked in single player for the last few updates. I am hoping that these new netcode updates fix most if not all my design issues I have been limited by.

I also am glad you guys are taking more care in releases and public testing releases before full implementation. Keep up the great work!

How can I do to collaborate with KSH to put a test server in my community "Space Engineers Latino" here in South America? In the last test I saw servers from Europe and the USA but none from here. (here an admin with more than 2k hours of game, and many more programming and managing servers from 2015, if I can collaborate and have a test server here, it would be great)

Through Steams server list I'm watching 11 devs running amok on the MP Test server early. Look at them frolicking around without a care in the world. Ignorant of the doom that awaits them when the servers go public. Mwahahahah.

    Yay! An actual announcement!

If it's like the last tests, community servers are not allowed (DS files are not distributed with regular game). This is a restriction specific to this test. Public release will still include everything (afaik). This is so Keen can monitor the MP and control the servers themselves. If there's a bunch of community servers out of their control, they can't see what's going on.

Yes, I participated in both Beta-Inception Tests when they went public. I'm just saying right now the devs are playing on the test server without us atm.

The link provided on how to opt into the beta has nothing to do with SE.. its for the Steam client. So where are we to find this option?

I think it's not showing an SE beta because it's not time yet. When the Beta is opened to public it should be on the list.

I do not follow that method myself: I go to Steam>Library>RClick on SE>Properties>Betas>Insert PW>select beta from dropdown

This will also not work until the Beta is public

My idea was direct collaboration with KSH, total access to server files, on these sides there are not many space servers and people usually always enter ours, that implies a interesting amount of players in this area testing and doing things(we have aprox 500 pp in the community). it's a pity I could not help or dont have any answer from ksh today. Maybe i ask too much close to the start time.

I cannot accept this because of [reasons] as well as because of [Reasons] - over the course of this arguement I plan for us to become wonderful friends until it's finally time and we can take out the conflict in a heated battle on a test server

gave it a shot there for a while. a ping of 90. jetpack, ship control and gyroscope controls felt slippery. there was a massive fps drop players mentioned it. an ear shattering sound and then it crashed.

Haven't been present to this, but last test something similar happened too. Was it like strange massive crack in in speakers, then complete silence for few minutes and then crash?

Sounds like either ALL sounds stacking, apparently, they can do that - or the sound drivers giving out. But I guess all sounds stacking - like in here:

In my case there was not much noise around... just sound blast and then nothing (I thought my ear drums ruptured, as then there was completely no sound. :D ) And soon after it, it crashed.

yeah it was definitely something like that.
    .
i remember i just finished fitting a drill and arc furnace to respawn ship 2 after getting over the groaning of picking this one by mistake and after i escaped the gravity well. :p
    .
once it was built there was an odd sensation you know as if all ping had been lost thought it was just me for a few moments but it didn't pass. everyone's ping spiked a few people mentioned it. i also mentioned it just for the chat log. people started leaving. i was sort of stuck on spot but was sort of floating away then back again and away and back again due to the ping. it was originally at 90 but went up to 200 then 600.
    .
i got a bit bored and started to shoot my rifle. then in third person and noticed that depending on where the camera was in third person i'd sort of float in a direction. i kept shooting my rifle realizing it might be pushing me back. i did keep phasing back and i was half expecting to die from a collision when i phase back. but that didn't happen despite my dire fear of it happening.
    .
then there was the horrible speaker screech Noise of jumpscare quality. then silence and a crash shortly after.

Yeah, that sounds like it :D So it seems it happened at least 2 in history of SE... That seems to be easily reproducible with high repro rate. :D

    Hi Carlosmaid,

Thanks for the feedback and apologies for the late reply. It's been very busy lately!

We may change the formats of public multiplayer tests in the future, but there are no official plans to do this as of yet.

    Cheers!:rocket:
