    My first proper large ship (i.e. not a long spear with thrusters I made to ram into things).
    The interior is a bit drab at the moment, looking at ways to make it more interesting. Currently named FNS Uusimaa.

    I must say, this game looks bloody gorgeous, even though quite a few of the models are placeholders.

    Interior is not done yet, and the bridge and side engines need some tweaking.

    Really liking the big black behemoth you got there. I really dig a good interior though, so please post it soon! I'm really curious what you're going to do with all that space!

    I'm prolly going to stick some more reactors in the space adjacent to the front and rear thrusters of the main section; going to make a nice and pretty engineering section. The centre i'll probably add a cargo bay, auxiliary control room, and the usual assorted stuff e.g. refinery, fabricator and so on.

    I tried to renovate my fighter, but realised it wasn't going to ever beat even the starter fighters in a dogfight, so turned it into a cargo hauler instead. It's fairly durable, too; though a head-on collision with the red ship at 100m/s resulted in some sort of pseudo-death :v

    I just posted a ship I feel has a decent interior (for my very 1st ship) https://forums.keenswh.com/post/amurkas-hangar-6582105 Maybe you can get some ideas there. I've found grates can be walked on to create a see-through floor, and "walkways" can be used to awesome effect. Pillars are pretty slick too if you wanna make it look like there's "structure" going on in there.

    Added a hangar to the ship, and separated the front and aft sections for future use as reactor space/cargo storage/other stuff. Moving onto another ship for the time being (which'll be a lot more practical), will finish this later.
    Also added an absurd amount of guns just for the heck of it :v

    A new ship, Ilmarinen. I was going to say "designed for combat", but I can't do it with a straight face, the entire engine section is basically one big target :v
    The exterior (minus weapons) is done, I just need to work on the interior now.
    On a related note, going to try and keep individual ships in a single post and just update that from now on; I don't want to be bumping peoples' threads off the front page with minor updates to ships.

    Some enormous ship thing I was working on until out-of-memory crashes started to become more frequent. 22,000 tonnes, over 40,000 blocks. Highly unlikely i'll be able to finish it (underside is not done, nor is the vast majority of the interior) until the game supports 64-bit and thus more memory. The physics timescale also slows down tenfold when I move the ship.

    Got around to actually completing another ship
    Here's a thing I built in about an hour and a half. Full interior (but small), handles like a drunken pregnant whale (you're basically fucked if you start sliding sideways, in particular [​IMG]) but imo looks nice enough to show.

    I would show a pic of the aftermath of it colliding with an asteroid, but no matter how many reverse thrusters I added, I couldn't get it off the asteroid afterwards.

    Finally finished my main ship in survival. It's slightly more nimble than the military transport (turns faster and accelerates forwards/backwards a lot faster), but I might end up needing to boost the left/right/up/down strafing thrusters. Probably should've planned it better (the conveyor system in particular had a few odd reroutings, and the solar panels were a complete afterthought to save uranium when not moving), but on the whole i'm satisfied with the outcome. Got conveyors going to all cargo containers, refineries, assemblers and turrets, for in the future when they start working. Heavy armour all around means it's highly resistant to things, but since everything is so tightly packed, if something succeeds in breaching the armour layer it will almost certainly hit something important. Also forgot to add a small hangar for the little looter craft I made.

    In the future, though, i'm just going to go with light armour and simply park in the shade, welding heavy armour is a pain in the arse.

    Looks good, will it have color at some point? I agree that heavy armor is kinda slow to build in survival. Then again that is a plus if there ever is conflicts, not everyone will be in just heavy ships.

    Another thing I made. I'll probably need to organise this thread better at some point, and fix the missing pictures.

    Was trying to make a heavy bomber design (i.e. like a rocket fighter but with the advantage of autoloading and higher fire rate). Turned out to be about as agile as a sack of lead potatoes. Not that functionality was the primary design consideration; if it was, I wouldn't have added a "SHOOT ME IN THE FACE" cockpit design.

    EDIT:

    Lined up all the ships I still have saves for (which is all but 2-3 small ships and one survival large ship) into one, since my saves folder was getting cluttered. Got a version without SS Greeble, since it basically halves the framerate on it's own. Surprisingly it can nowadays move without too much physics slowdown. Can't remember when I gave it the grimdark paintjob, though.
