The quest to design a small, cheap, easy to build, and most importantly, aesthetically pleasing large grid ship, continues.

Hi guys. I'm looking for community creations to use on a custom scavenger server as cargo ships that will be crashed into a planet. I don't just want to rob the workshop but would like people to grant permission. I'd prefer large block ships (not enormous) with interior defenses. I regularly contribute to this thread as well as look through all of the designs. Many of them are awesome.

Please PM me with a link to your ship or workshop as to not derail this thread.

So guys, what do you think of my new rust bucket aesthetic? So far, I like it. Makes a ship look like a piece of junk without it being crappy, if that makes sense. [IMG]

    Just another airmobile industry base.

Mass: 738,711 kg (738 Metric Tons) empty
Mass: 1,574,480 kg (1,574 Metric Tons) full
    Size: 105m x 52.5m x 40m

Has Energy based defense vs cyber dogs, spiders and other things that bump in the night. Sensor activated welders protecting the landing gears. Funny watching the dogs biting the welders and getting fried. Then I turn off the welders and salvage items from the bodies of the cyber dogs.

Solar main power with Batteries for landed operations.
    300MW reactor for flight operations.

Batteries can be used for emergency flight operations. Be advised that it will be sluggish.
Can be up to 15 degrees off horizontal before airship starts to slide.

I've packed these with as many useful features as I could think of. They both include Hydrogen Afterburners, Active ECM, exceptional acceleration, significant firepower, weapon sequencing, remote operation with cameras, ventral merge block and connector, external cargo display. Basically the works. Hopefully I won't need another refit for a while... I'm going to regret that statement aren't I? ;)

I tried to find a compact design for a projector/welder-based gravity-gun turret and this is what came out:

The (modded) Hammer Rail-Gun turret MK I (I know, very creative name - can't seem to find nice names nor can I paint my creations)

Most parts of the turret, especially the motors/hinges, are made of large blocks, so it should be quite stable. Only the part with the welders/projector and so on is made of small blocks.
The design might undergo some cosmetic changes. Also I will try to link it to a tracking script, though I think it won't work that great, due to relatively slow projectile speed - I already am using a 300m/s mod.
Also I will try to design a turret with multiple projectiles, being able to use it as kind of a shot-gun or to fire the projectiles sequently.

    This is the HE projectile:

As you can see, it's made with the small block torpedo mod. This way it's really small and this penetrator block causes crazy damage. The shell itself is quite expensive, but the damage done justifies the costs. It can pierce several layers of heavy armor, just like most pmw's.
The first timer fires it away and the second one shuts off the artificial mass after 1 sec, so the projectile can't be deflected by gravity.

I've had quite some fun, blowing things up so far. So if you want to give it a shot (haha), here's the workshop link:

Feel free to stick it onto your ships and let me know, what you think :)

Atmospheric skycrane module, aka utility pod.

Three more modules to go and I can say it's done. :)

There are two PVP-oriented modules, too. :D

Been too long since i've made a dumbfire bomb. It's made to resemble the Troop Pod. Been testing it against hardened structures and, boy, is it destructive, plus, you get rid of all that extra junk, er, stone that you don't need.

New station I've been putting together in my spare time, nothing special.
Just a little waystation for ships coming in and out of CDI space.

I like the partially built wheels at the bottom, it adds a lot.

I noticed there's no lights yet on the landing pads: are you going to just put down Interior Lights, or put up little towers with spotlights on rotors?

Yea. Finishing up the lighting tonight.

Not sure how I'm going to tackle the lights on the landing pads, although spotlights on rotors is a good idea. I'll definitely test that one out and see how it looks

ok large wheeled miners are not easy to design. But much lower energy requirement vs a flying platform. could even just survive on solar cells and 2 batteries.

Here is a mobile large derrick. takes about 50 minutes for a full drill cycle. Nice part, drive to spot, hit one button, and then go site seeing or goof off while it does the work.

There is about 10 pictures on the workshop for this item. What pictures you want?

Well it helps if I post the link.

This is for use only in gravity well. More than 3 pistons is inherently unstable. I used one gyro as a damper, the drill head is weighted and nearly balanced. Combined with slow speed of rotor and very slow pistons makes it useable. There is a landing pad to lock the drill head while traveling.

The Egret is flight-ready and fully capable of delivering the goods. This heavy-lifting modular transport is built to provide numerous utility options for the discerning consumer.
