Over 2 months ago the new report site was implemented. Since that time:
    671 bugs have been reported
    73 have been solved (1/day)
22 flagged 'Not a Bug' or 'Won't Fix'
3 Duplicates (I'll be generous and say there are 10x this...)

So of the 619 valid reports, 73 have been resolved. If we assume no more bugs will be created or reported, at the current rate of ~1 fixed/day we can project SE completion in just over 18 months.

A light at the end of the tunnel?

Just because there are no bugs left to squash, does it mean the game is finished.

There is still a LONG way before SE can hold its own without outside help.

Well, darn it all if Keen pushed back final release YET AGAIN because they wanted to please all those darn FANS by taking pressurization out of experimental mode, where they could legitimately ignore it forever, and making it work properly as a core feature.

    What were they thinking?

Some updated numbers as of this post:

    1644 bug reports submitted,

    204 flagged as 'solved'

32 flagged as 'not a bug'

    95 flagged as 'won't fix'

    22 flagged as 'duplicates'

1291 remaining in various states of 'submitted' to 'in progress'

The support site has been around for over 8 months which is an average fix rate of ~25/month. If the ratios and rate continue unchanged the projected clearance date, assuming no new bugs, is just under two and a half years from now.

They won't fix every single issue in the game. That's not how software development works.

    Time for another update:

    Considered 1363
    Submitted 4
    Need More Information 143
    Not a Bug 14
    Duplicate 7
    Won't Fix 115
    Investigating 8
    In Progress 5
    Solved 247
    Total 1906

They are steady with their fix rate of ~25/month, but this is still a repair deficit when you consider that the ratio of valid to invalid bug reports is 1:1.1
  13. NoThanks Apprentice Engineer

I was wrong. It wasn't interesting.

Kind of neat to see in my opinion, but yeah these estimates are useless and giving numbers of "bugs should all be fixed by" is something you tell the executives to get them off your back because they don't understand how bug fixing works.
