Failures may become great things, never trying leads to nothing.

I require entry into this subfaction!.

http://i.imgur.com/Iq8aqWn.jpg Goes up and down "ish" without issue, if you go too far up it will get stuck, i need to add stoppers to prevent you bring it too close to vertical.

I hope you still have a mildly comfortable armchair left for another inquisitor. [IMG]

I too wish to uphold the and protect the fundamental laws of physics and to protect them from any wrongdoers and mis-believers. Newton is love, Newton is life!

    PS.: @Mishka
Using a stopper or some weights at the bottom usually works pretty well.

I tried a similar design, but my catch blocks decided hinging was too mainstream so instead they decided flying and then eventually collapsing through a 4 block thick bridge like it was made of paper would be cool instead.

You are still required to say the 6 words of glory! You can also still be a master of torture equipment if you like.

Enjoyed reading through this thread, but I noticed that Wintersend isn't listed as a member of the Inquisition?

I am not a member. Not exactly anyway.

I am a siege consultant you could say. I will build and donate several pieces of siege equipment to this faction and report any heretical activity I see. If I were a true member, the heretics might grow suspicious if they saw me.

So I am not a member but I will work closely since Martineneter is also a member of a second faction we both share.

I'm not entirely certain that my skills would entirely fit under Master of Torture Equipment.
If you've ever read the Discworld novels by Terry Pratchett, I'm best described like Leonard of Quirm... only female.
I don't intentionally create destructive devices, but give me a function and I will make it. (the more specific, the better). Take from that what you will...

Ok that's frightening. Leonardo de Quirm is very smart, and very scary in some of the things he creates such as, I believe, a catapult that fires balls of molten sulfur. His only flaw is in coming up with names.

Hmm... I do like the sound of "siege consultant", but I'm not sure I'm a suitable member. Most of my weapon ideas are grav-launched, after all... at least I don't like grav-drive ships :D.

Grav launch is excessive and easily deflected. Grav drives are where it's at. Go from point a to point b without any of that "time" nonsense. Just don't overdo it.

Except I always put in timers to turn off the mass after it's launched. Whenever I make a large block weapon, it's always grav-launched. Large-block thrusters are ludicrously expensive and provide less acceleration.

experimenting with SI has begun, i think in 6hours i will master it enough te start working on the temple... so does any of you have a design idea? or should i use my own creative power?

if yes, trust me, im an artistic engineering inquisitor

    edit:
dont forget to be part of our steam group page

Hmm I guess my post on the last page was too sneaky and unexpected to be noticed.

    Is that a good thing?

So you want to be a master of torture equipment then?

Ok sure, that sounds like something I can handle.
I basically just have to point the business end of my deviously failing creations at someone else.

ps.: I also bring this little fella with me. He will happily rain down pain and justice with his inquisitorial face-stamp (hammer) within our posts.: [IMG]

You were already added to the members section (an hour after you said your vows), but an upgrade is possible. The torture equipment involves instruments which are not supposed to kill, but to annoy the hell out of heretics.

    Oh, I didn't expect that. :p

I guess the "surprisingly fast elevator" that I originally had in mind may indeed have some life-shortening side-effects. I'll have to reconsider the design.

However, the "interestingly featureless wall" should be reasonably safe to use.

Anyways, heresy is an inherently self-destructive business to follow, people should be aware of that!

first part of the temple is done, a courtyard and the main shrine...

    whats next:
    - place for the inquisitors to rest
    - place where the ground keeper rests and stores his stuff.
-dungeon... need to find a good spot for that one tough.
    -bridges.
-stables with place for some carriages.

    I'll also leave something here:

Our inquisition grows ever stronger, heretics may run, but cannot hide!

and so it is my fellow inquisitors :)

    Edit:
    http://imgur.com/a/wVyp1
Temple has been expanded a bit.
    i've added 2 smaller shrines,
    a bridge,
    stables.
    a mill.
    place for the ground keeper
    storage for the groundkeeper.
and a few statues in the courtyard.

i will have to wait till we get some more ceiling blocks, so when i have that i will finish the dungeons. but for now, this is the result of some hard work.
