We have added the Symmetry Mode and enabled the Inventory. Also optimized the jet pack movement and Max Speed.
For more details watch the tutorial video
    Features
    - symmetry/mirror mode
    - inventory
    - jetpack movement ('Z' is now 'Damping on/off' for ships and jetpack)
    - max speed is 104m/s for all objects

    Fixes
    - memory optimizations
    - fixed nVidia Optimus problems (EDIT: actually not fixed yet... Optimus doesn't work as it's supposed to work... we are working on it)
    - fixed crashes due to memory (when memory limit enabled)
    - fixed crash with missing .NET library
    - fixed crash in DirectX
    - fixed character animations
    - fixed saving/loading problems
    - fixed 3rd person camera issues for ships
    - fixed audio issues (including one type of black screen)
    - fixed missing music sometimes after ALT+TAB
    - updated localization

    Detailed description:

    Symmetry/mirror mode
    - allows you to build symmetric structures, see tutorial how to use it
    - allows you to set symmetry for each axis separately
    - symmetry plane can be set in the middle of cube or between two cubes (aka odd or even)

    Inventory
    - inventory screen is available
    - items can be moved between inventories
    - you can throw out items (it has physics, reacts to gravity, can damage other objects)
    - you can pick up items
    - when you build a cargo container on a large ship or station, it contains random items
    - each item will have specific purpose in future

    Jetpack movement
    - added damping On/Off ('Z' key)
    - movement is now more realistic and similar to a small ship
    - ship damping is now on 'Z' key too (to make it consistent)

    Max speed
    - jetpack, small ship and large ship have a max speed 104 m/s
    - you can exit moving small ship and float around

    Memory optimizations
    - you can build larger worlds now, bigger ships, etc. This applies to existing worlds as well. The optimization reduced memory usage to approx. 50%, so in theory you can build 2x bigger structures.

I'd never even thought about a symmetry mode... now I'm not sure I'll be able to live without it.

    Thanks!

So some memory optimisations does this also include making the game run a bit better when having large amounts of blocks or is this purely cutting down the memory usage?

no word on changes to allow people to define a collision model for new cubes/models put into game?

will try out the new changes anyway :) spent 8 hours yesterday messing with it. how did that happen haha

Sounds great, can't wait to test it!

Glad you added the whole odd/even thing for symmetry too, I was concerned I would have to stop putting doors and controls neatly in the middle :p

    Awesome update :D
i think it will be hard getting used to the symmetry mode.. it looks a bit hard to use

Awesome! except will the max speed be locked at 104 forever?

I hope the max speed feature is only for the alpha.
It shouldn't be any in the release version. The faster a ship goes, the more it consume fuel (energy) and when the fuel (energy) is empty it just stop, that's how speed should be handle, this way people won't be able to make crazy stuff and will have to make a choice between fast ship with high fuel consumption or slow ship with low fuel consumption.

I love the symmetry! It shall aid in creating a space station next.

However I think the player jet pack should have a speed limit, however we can still work out ways to catapult a player without jet pack...

yeah... sadly for you that's not how physics work... If you run out of fuel in space, you are stuck at that speed until you hit something (to put it in a simpler, albeit not quite entirely true manner).

I hope the JetPack Speed is only in Creative Mode so high. Because with that speed we need no ships to get fast from one point to a far away point, also no transportation system in big ships needed... good for Creative Mode, but not so good for Survival.

All other things: nice Updates! :thumb:

Nice update ! just, one question about weapons. I can select them and put in my toolbar, but i can't shoot and I don't get the unable message. Somebody know why ?

hmm increesing top speed to 104m/s for large ship wasnt a good idea... i think smaller ships should be faster then larger and also when large ship is flying 104m/s then walking on the ship is buggy...
and in my opinion jetpack shouldn't have 104m/s speed.. maybe 40 would be a good idea?

They are inventory items but they have not been activated yet.
It was not planned that they would be either ;)
