    Summary
In this update we added support for designing deathmatch scenarios. With the new editor options, you will be able to design free-for-all scenarios where you can compete with your friends on who will be the last to survive! The designer has the option to set the amount of the allowed lives in each scenario, which means that when a player reaches zero, he will lose. Also, we added the option to set the medical room ownership to the first player who spawns in the scenario. Additionally, the projector can now be set to instant building (available only in the creative/scenario mode). Once the scenario is played, the settings can’t be changed or accessed again. Moreover, we added a new scenario option that will make a grid indestructible. This option can be found in the Info tab of that specific grid and its purpose is to eliminate any performance issues and/or set physical boundaries of the map.

Lastly, we would also like to highlight the importance of the scenario editor feature. Its main purpose is to allow players to create missions and game modes which can be played by other players. There are no rules set in stone, but all are defined by the author himself. Capture the flag, deathmatch, racing or campaign driven missions - all can be done by using the scenario editor, with your own rules and designs. All can be achieved by the blocks and settings available in the game. The Steam Workshop allows the Space Engineers’ community to share and play the scenarios. The first stage of the editor has the basic GUI set-up and a few conditions. Each update that will bring new additions to the scenario editor will have an example scenario that presents new possibilities (similar to the race scenario that was added last week). We hope that you will enjoy the possibilities that this feature can offer. More additions and improvements are yet to come!

And we have a special treat for you today - a blog post by Dusan Andras, the man behind the planets: http://blog.marekrosa.org/2015/06/guest-post-by-dusan-andras-space.html

Except when it comes to rails, voxel hands, and several other things that were mined and either took a long time or haven't been implemented yet.

Although adding features is great, and the additional game modes are a welcome addition, they are almost useless without the new MP code. I really hope the dev team will put MP code on a higher priority in the next few weeks, as I will not use these new game modes, or MP for that matter, until MP code is fixed.

That being said, good job with the additional game modes! I imagine they will be quite entertaining when I am able to play again! :D

    Called it!

The Lives counter is great, though I certainly hope for some more granular conditions - specifically, the ability to score points towards victory rather than a flat win/loss, as that'd make all the existing conditions even more flexible. For example, deathmatches where kills score points, but you get even more for achieving other objectives.

Heh, that's one way of putting it. Not much in there for single player people, but I'm okay with it. I can't play much this week anyway.
The new info about the planet was nice though. I don't mind smaller planets, I think it's good actually. 30 km diameter is still bigger than some worlds could be just a couple of months ago. And the fact that the gravity will decrease with distance gives a bit of hope for orbiting stations, despite the low max speed.

Not my cup of tea ... but .. it's ok! I reckon some will enjoy this update .. and if so, it's all good! We can't all get what we want everytime...

Still hoping for Concrete and planets coming soon :D

I gotta say, I run a decent sized community for this game and not a single person has shown any interest in scenario's

I was pretty excited for the idea of them, But nobody wants to try them.

At the very least Thank You for some info on planets and confirmation that there will be more than one atmosphere type, lifeless and lush filled with life planets, A lot to think about.

Optimizing netcode is a waste of time if the optimizations would just be thrown out a couple of months later.

    I try to stay positive.

Actually after the last AMAs and blog posts i expected 100 km. I'm mainly concerned about the surface ending up too round. Look beautiful either way.

Edit - Well I think the invincible grid will definitely be the only thing I see used from this weeks patch. That's alright.. I'll keep my hopes up for those planets..

I have been pondering some sort of scenario where the player starts in the brig of a crashed automated prison ship and has a set amount of lives / oxygen to find a full set of tools and build a ship capable of escaping. Sounds like the tools for making that happen are getting close!

(And if anyone wants to give that idea a whirl, go for it. I'm playing all my Steam Sale booty for the next few weeks :woot: )
