    Summary
After 53 weekly updates we have come to the end of the 2015! Thanks for the ride and Happy New Year, Engineers! Hope you are ready for one more.
The howling of a beast comes to Space Engineers in this latest update. This beast roams the lands of the Earth-like planet, stalks their prey and then attacks when you are busy repairing your base. Cyberhound is a predator with laser eyes and a nasty trick up its sleeve to use as a last resort. They also contain some loot that you can collect after you manage to terminate them.
For those of you who are dedicated to hardcore realism, the Cyberhound is an optional character - you can always turn it off from the main menu and enjoy the survival mode without any NPCs (this option is temporarily disabled – it will be enabled within the next few days).
And on the surfaces of the Earth-like and Alien planets you can watch the dance of the fireflies during the night. Just pay attention to the trees around you. Fireflies are a purely cosmetic addition to the biomes.

    Features
    - Cyberhounds
    - Fireflies

    Fixes
    - Fixed crash when joining dedicated server

    update : 01.115.06
added options to disable spawning of spiders and cyberhounds
for old saves spiders will spawn if your environment hostility is not safe, cyberhounds aren't spawning by default in any old world.
In new worlds you need to enable them in advanced menu. (both spiders and cyberhounds)

You've got to be frrking kidding us, Keen!

Within 1 minute the DS simspeed dropped down to .2 due to this nonsense exploding bull****!
And no option to turn'em of as of yet?

Thanks for killing the multiplay completely now!

    Edit:
Yes, I'd been very happy with the bug fix, Very satisfied with only the bug fix. No content wich makes me rage again and again and again.. just plain bug fixes. That'd have cooled down a lot of heat. Such a lot...

    Edit II:
I do not even care if I get banned now by the mods. If the truth is not liked by Keen and leads to raging DS admins so be it. with 2100+ h in SE I am really at the end of my patience by now.

Cyberdogs are spacecreepers! Awesome Horrible that Earth now has mobs besides drones, need to step up our ground defenses!
Also.. hoped to have seen more fixes, especially for still falling through planets now and then.. but thank you for living up to your weekly schedule! Especially during these holidays :)
Best wishes to everyone for next year!

    Edit:
Uh, guys? the dogs are exploding everything at random. Had to take my 4 servers offline. How do I turn this off? There's no option in the dedicated server configurator.

This should've been in QA a bit longer. I know you guys are probably busy celebrating right now, but I don't think I can safely boot my servers right now, can we please have a hotfix for this? even turning the dogs off for now or just their explosion part would be really helpful right now!

Edit after hotfix: THANKS! The ability to individually turn off spiders, cyberhounds, and drones, is really neat. Thanks for the quick response despite new year's eve!

I'm sure keen will make sure the symptoms you are experiencing stay in the game forever therefore justifying your otherwise unreasonable amount of rage.

On alien planets or alien bases and stuff it would be ok ... but not on earthlike!

I get the feeling their getting their feet wet with NPCs so they can release a mod guide like they do for everything else. It might be possible to mod them at a later date.

If anyone knows the spawn conditions of these critters, that'd be awesome. Hopefully they won't be roaming my base when I connect over the weekend.

Also, yay for the DS fix. Any fix for my DS is a good fix.

Nothing exciting but then this is a casual work week for many. I will say this....
NO, Please no exploding, Minecraft-ish, creeper-like creatures. (Spiders, now exploding creepers) I was ok with it until it exploded. Have it jump off of the back of a companion hound, sprout wings, or tunnel under the wall if you want it to overcome obstacles. Just no silly cartoonish explosions please. I would almost rather you made a doppleganger that popped out of med bays or out of the dreaded persistent backpack. I do sorta like the creepy factor with them lingering in remote places tho)

Well the Earth-Like planet is suppose to be this alien world that has similarities to Earth. It makes logical sense that the life wouldn't be the same as the real Earth. The dogs could be some science experiment gone wrong.

It's the wolf update from Minecraft all over again.
Considering how often things just randomly explode in this game anyway, adding a mob that purposefully blows things up is just mean...
Though, I bet a mod maker will come up with a mod to remove the exploding bit and redo the model to look like a normal wolf, which honestly would have made more sense and seem less like Keen was trolling us.

Fail to see the "We promise this will happen no matter what."

This is the problem with wanting developers to communicate with you more. All that the players, who ask for that, want to do is tie keen down with whatever they said so keen won't be able to do anything different. IMHO, I don't think keen should give timeframes for anything other than, "We would like these features done at release." and whatever happens before then doesn't really matter.

Um, don't think this was well thought out.

Sure, you want to add NPC's, go for it. But make it an opt-in choice rather than an opt-out choice, and include that choice when it is released, not a few days later.

You basically just killed my chances of playing over the long holiday weekend because my idea of fun is not sitting on guard duty waiting for packs of suicide bombers to race at the buildings and ships I have just spent hours building.

This may be what some people want, and I don't fault you for adding it, but it should not have been released without the option to turn it off.

It already happened. People were expecting this huge change that would just happen one day and fix everything, but they've been working on the netcode and implementing the changes gradually over months.

Always nice to have new stuff, and whilst I agree ... it's not exactly something that 'fits' on an earthlike planet...it will open up the possibility of more fitting hostile fauna in the future.

Just a pity there was no fix for the falling through the ice I keep getting.... but...really...I just don't get why people ( person ) get so angry when they don't get what they want. That's just childish. I am happy with whatever I get, even if it's not really what I need. I am sure the problem will get fixed sometime.

They are still not ready ... as they sayed on livestream and stuff they are still close but a lot work is needed to finsh it.

Just give it a little more time. Btw. On DS the game runs better then ever (except form heavy bugs at planets like random "falling into ground stuff")
