Update 01.152 DEV - Improvements and Bugfixes

    Summary
    Hey there, Engineers! Today's update brings you a round of bug fixes and improvements. One of the major improvements this week was to the placement of asteroids. In previous versions, asteroids were spawned quite far away from planets in prefab worlds. They can now spawn at the very edge of a planet’s gravity well. This improvement should improve planetary survival gameplay.
    The main area of fixes is to the realistic sound mode implemented last week. Most notably, a crash that many users experienced when using modded cockpits has been fixed. Other bugs fixed this week include transparency issues with ghostblocks and g-screen issues with modded blocks.

    Fixes
    - fixed crash with sound at load
    - improved Sabroid behavior on grids
    - fixed transparency of ghostblocks
    - fixed survival building distance for small grid
    - fixed Meteors coming from below the planet or the center
    - fixed converting grid to dynamic, when deleting block touching voxel
    - fixed issues with grid not switching to dynamic when disconnected
    - fixed G-screen issues with modded blocks
    - changed the distance that asteroids spawn in star system
    - fixed minor spelling mistakes in game options
    - fixed issue where Modded/unknown blocks pasted themselves as gatlings
    - removed extra curved conveyor tube in G-screen
    - fixed few particle effects
    - fixed issues with hydrogen tank producing hydrogen from nothing

    Like the asteroids being closer to planets, hate having to travel forever for resources

    Would loves to see a large Merger block that acts like an airtight passage that works on large and small grids alike so large and small grid ships can dock at ships and stations.

    If it ain't broke don't remove it from the World Options menu.

    Edit: a redesigned block design i love. That's new. Makes A LOT more sense than the weird... bumpy... things the Merge Block had before.

    Like the g menu fixes...
    like the meteor refixes
    REALLY like the asteroid distance changes, so you can have roids right outside the gravity well.

    The new merge block...yes please!

    Now to go test it all out!

    Love the new designs! It's been a long time we were promised real blocks, and finally, here they are coming :)

    I hope welding projections in the stable version gets fixed soon. Being able to weld up projections of interior lights and TURRETS is a bit of a big deal. Oh, and getting teleported out of the seat on merges / unmerges, toolbars getting wiped on merges /unmerges. Oh, and inventories not being visually accurate in the GUI or hidden, search not working properly... you know... the usual stuff. :)

    Unable to start the game at all. :(

    It keeps telling me to launch it from Steam (I do, as always).

    EDIT: Restarted Steam. Now it works. That was odd but oh well! :pbjt:

    Like how "meteors coming from below the planet or the center" is making an appearance again in this patch, I doubt it's actually fixed this time. Seems they need about 5 patches claiming to do a bugfix before it actually works. And then maybe 10 patches later, it'll be added back in again.

    Short and sweet video this week, complete with a quote that I'm sure won't get taken completely out of context. I like it. Also, asteroids spawning closer to planets should alleviate some of the tedium of that particular phase of survival mode. Now if only there was a quicker way to get to and from the surface without seppuku-based teleportation...

    So, two questions, since I'm playing in a star system survival game...

    1) Will the asteroid changes affect my existing game, or do I have to start a new one?
    2) Why does this make for better survival game play? Resources so much easier to obtain? We're so far not lacking for resources on the planet, except platinum.

    Still no fix for game freezes and conveyors not working at all? I didn't see/hear anything mentioned about it. The game is completely unplayable at the moment because of these two bugs..

    Any chance purple lighting will get fixed when using an intel gp, and particle effects not working when shadows are off getting fixed next week?

    There is no sound in the game, random issue for some people, and again do I need to format windows to fix damn sound ?
