If you're talking about planetary performance, the issue isn't the thrusters, it's the lack of lift. Until Keen gets around to addressing aerodynamics you either have to design helicopter-style craft or use Draygo's mod to get the proper physics to use wings to make planetary flight possible.

Exporting ships is still borked for me :/

I was really hoping this update would fix it...

Same as the rest... letters mod Yes but Shields and Nanite should stay mods. My question is why no one seems to like the Idea of ladders? I build very compact ships and ladders enable me to do that without having to use my jetpack all the time within my ship.

Wow, nice update. Glad were getting more Community made blocks made vanilla. Yeah those blocks are pretty good. Love that new AI, looking good. Again, more nice previews of future blocks. Thanks Keen!

I couldn't agree more^ and what the hell broke it in the 1st place? or is it just me its broken for?

I wouldn't bother buying 32GB ram W4stedspace has 32GB Ram and has same memory leaks but he plays on Dev most of the time.

The whole game is using more RAM than it used to. It started two updates ago, just loading my world used to be about 3GB and now it's 6. Loading lots of mods used to be simple even with only 8GB in the machine, now I get out of memory crashes. Something is eating a lot more RAM than it used to, and it's probably not supposed to be.

I just attempted to make a welder platform, and it seems I'm unable to build more than 100 welders/grid. After that, I cannot add welders/grinders/drills. The game just says 'cannot place, block would exceed regulations.' When was this added to the game? I'm perfectly fine with a max for servers/multiplayer, but for SP we should be able to have as many drills/welders/grinders as we want. If I want to mine with a 15x15 drill array, then there's no reason to block it except when it would cause slowdown for many players, which is irrelevant in SP. This goes against the basics of the game, where you build whatever you want, how you want.

It's not that we don't like them, its that we are tired of asking for them back.

how is it, that, when im trying to discuss sensor range and thruster input and input, and building vannilla, people wanna talk to me about flight physics and mods, two things that have nothing to do with what im talking about, ah the forums

Anyone know if there's a way to reduce the dust while mining? Mining is monotonous to begin with and the dust makes it more so! I can't see what I'm mining so I either have to activate my drills for 1 second and then wait for the dust to clear or mine 1 part ore, 4 parts stone!

    This update is good, though!

Thrusters are fine, makes it more an issue of Goob-bye jack of all trades ships, unless you build it out of tissue paper, it will be too heavy, which is a good thing, and we want stuff more dynamic than sensors...

I agree. Good Jack of all trade ships are something we all want but are very hard to attain. Compromises have to be made and that is exactly what engineering is all about. You take your tools, technology anf limitations. Then you find a way to work around your limitations with what you have. It is an art form. You have a problem that you wish to solve. These are your tools and parts. Build around the problem. Thats what is half the fun! Build modular ships, build specialised ships, build ships to carry ships which carry ships. Yea mods are cool and all and i love stuff like huge giant engines and shields esp if im doing a movie/tv show inspired build but if i am playing survival, i like to engineer my way around problems.

Just a side note, if ion thrusters had realistic thrust.....well where is your xeon and 2 year acceration pattern?

My fighters cary the bassics, ox/H gen, medium cargo..for ice and ammo, 4 gats 2 launchers a reloadable and 4 gyros, if im using ions, a large reactor. I dont even hardly bother with the Htanks there just too big and carry really too little, there good as buffers if you run out of ice, but nothing much else

YES! Drone AI. All I've wanted for ages was to be able to have an army of robots.

AI improvement is great. last time i looked at the code, it was also pretty hardcoded, so i am looking forward, that system getting more finesse.
Also generally spawning, npcs and stuff could improve, as I personally would not want to have vanilla wolves and spiders, or meteorites, I would try to make environment more finetuned and diverse.
As AI stuff usually is done with visual event systems, makes sense to introduce it after the visual editor.

I do not look forward to the PBR models so much, but I am sure it will be great. Still looking forward to better networking, and hope for eventual DS support for linux.

1st thought - So dont get me wrong, the new blocks are looking amazing, but isnt it supposed to be a grinder, not a saw? No grinder ive ever used has teeth like that. Just sayin, we arent chopping space wood.

2nd thought - Although there are trees on planets, but there are no wooden objects in the game, so... im still at a loss.

3rd thought - integrate SE and ME together and we can have full progression from medieval to futuristic eras.

4th thought - now the saw makes sense.

5th thought - im an idiot, sorry, im done.

I like the way you think.
with the ability to make stone castle blocks we could make the glitch ship from starbound. :p

and i do remember a mod that added stone castle style bricks but it stopped working... :(
