Update 02.028 - Barbarian waves, Sword

    Summary
    Barbarian waves have been added to the game (survival mode). Barbarians will now attack you in waves during the night. On the first night, there will be one barbarian who will attack, on the second, two barbarians and so on. The maximum number of attacking barbarians is currently ten, so after the 10th wave the amount of barbarians will remain ten. Also, barbarians can now be looted. After a barbarian is killed, his inventory is dropped on the ground where players can pick it up. The inventory can include food, tools or weapons (note: the bag will disappear from the world after some time, so pick up everything that you need immediately and don’t leave it for later). Moreover, barbarians are now able to use the crossbow, so beware! We have also implemented the sword to the game. It works the same way as the other melee weapons, but it causes more damage to your opponent (you can kill someone with 3 hits). Lastly, we have changed the food consumption. Now you will get starving damage 20 minutes after you run out of food.

    - fixed crash when player equipped with a tool changed model to the deer

    I just thought to myself the other day that this game is missing swords. I'm not so sure about the barbarians, it seems that waves or hoards of enemies should be left to 7D2D and similar games. Perhaps a random chance of a wave, rather than a nightly wave. I guess it'll be nice to have SOMETHING to kill, other than deer and your friends. :D
    Nice to see some performance related fixes too!

    Yea i hope they do this in the future instead of waves.
    You know random atacks of Barbarians, bandits, wolfs and other enemies that could be added with diferent biomes.

    Looks very very cool KSH! Keep up the great work!

    Will new animals be added btw? Was thinking it could be cool to add bears and wolves, but they'd only attack you if you get too close or attack them first. So, if your hunting deer and you come across a pack of three or four wolves, you'd have to keep your distance so they dont attack you.

    Maybe raccoons as well that can steal your food if its left outside a house during the night.

    There is a lot of potential in this game. LOVING the updates youve brought out so far. Thank you KSH! ^-^

    Agreed, I was wondering when they would add swords as well. Now here's hoping for shields and armor one day as well. And yeah, I'd like a random chance of barbarians instead of every night as I think that could get old quick, but it's a nice start.

    sweet! now there's something to do at night. do they try to break down walls to get to you or do they still only go after the king statue?

    sweet, barbarians will be fun, now maybe we need some fighter bots?
    EDIT: Set my day/night to 50-50 and 30 mins day, more then 1 came at night, with some time between them, might work best with default settings

    Is it just me or does your character get hungry a lot faster now? I'm doing more building now so it's possible I'm just not paying attention to my hunger until I start to take damage.

    "Fixed Crash When Player equipped with a tool changed model to a dear" _Epic_ That's the first bug you've ever listed in the change log fixes that directly effected me :p


    Also to those who say it wasn't a game before, let me remind you not all games deal directly in combat - The Two Engineering Titles are called such because their primary focus *IS* a game based on building and engineering; as such it's only natural that combat takes a second place.

    Has anyone else had a problem with the Spring-tension block being missing? I can't find it in the g-menu, i even tried searching for "Spring" and it came up empty.

    Nah, you know how it is - now that you've said it they only gotta have problems with rendering the video. If you hadn't said "big" they would have released a release that contains smithing, all mechanical blocks and volumetric water inside a refined netcode framework - *sigh*
