Update 1.014 - Updated World Generator, Light Parameters, Functional Doors

    Update 01.014.010 has been released. We have updated the world generator, now all ore types are available, but many deposits are hidden inside the asteroids under the rock surface. We also, added parameters in the control panel for lights and drill. Doors can now be opened/closed.

    Info about the updated world generator:
    When creating a new world, all types of ore are available.
    The types of ore are: stone, iron, nickel, cobalt, magnesium, silicon, silver, gold, platinum, uranium, ice and can be found under the rock surface of the asteroids. Some deposits of ore may be more visible but some may be hidden.
    We have also added a new world scenario which is available only for the 64-bit version and it contains more asteroids.



    Features
    - updated world generator
    - doors are now functional
    - drill can be turned on/off in the control panel
    - added light parameters in the control panel
    - gatling guns can now rotate
    - added new large world scenario (64-bit only)
    - moddable collision shapes (Guide: http://www.SpaceEngineersGame.com/moddable-collision-models.html)
    Fixes
    - obsolete sound engine XACT replaced with XAudio2
    - fixed toolbar issues
    - fixed issues with character and equipped drill
    - fixed performance issue with many items/ore in scene

    Awwww, lighted colors like I suggested in my first post I posted (Yeh you post posts, how weird is that ?) on these forums. :)

    And doors, and world gen ! And gatling gun rotation ! And EVERYTHING ! Gooooooooooooooooooood job KSH, really good job. I'll work even more on the wiki for that.

    but things like the features you added to the game right now are very nice.

    Also changeable intensity on interior lights! Looks like we can make em much brighter now, so we won't need as many for large open spaces.

    Awesome update!

    Barely. I can't wait to see what you guys do for better object/system utilization. Pressure plates, proximity sensors, and levers seem like a no-brainer and hope to see something similar soon.

    Sort of Spooky wasn't too long ago in a community forum thread that I mention that all we need is colourable light and before long we'll have Police ships.

    i love the lights.

    now i just hope you really do some sort of scriptability in future to automate specific tasks with buttons, so we don't have to hack each door separately, also pls introduce an access panel block.

    keep it up! :) very happy to test this.

    Aw yis, the weekly update is here and it's fine as ever!
    But i agree with TodesRitter, if we need to open the door by accessing the panel, you might as well leave the door open. :confused:

    Yes pleas make doors open and close with the use button its a nice update but doors oben over menu sucks if you stand in front of it.
    But if you sitting in the command chair its nice like: "We getting borded close the doors and vent the Air out" (well only works if the enemy dont have sapcesuits :woot:).
    So nice update^^.

    indeed, not every control panel should grant acssess to all ship/station devices. imo door control oanel should control just door and so on. and only bridge control panel should give acsess to all of the devices/

    thanx for the update, in fact i can never guess what stuff will be added)

    Can someone who can get in game tell us what exactly does it mean "gatlin guns rotate"? Not on the video.

    Do the barrels now just revolve like an actual gatlin gun OR is there a panel option now to make them actually swivel and change direction?

    How big was the update? I didn't see it, but I do have the auto healing option however I have no audio on drills and guns, as well as explosions, I noticed some staticky audio glitches randomly sometimes, has anyone else experienced the same?
