    Hello, Engineers!

This week’s minor is continuing the current run of general improvements as we near the release of the next major update. We know a lot of you really can’t wait for this but it’s crucial that we fix as many bugs as possible before going live with changes to code as significant as the ones in the upcoming major. The main issues fixed in today’s update include terminals taking you to the incorrect block in the control panel and automatic turrets shooting subgrids of their own grid. Additionally, corner and interior lights should no longer appear emissive when turned off or not supplied with power.

In other news, tomorrow night at 7PM UTC, Xocliw will be doing a 24 hour Space Engineers livestream from the KeenSWH offices over on Twitch. There’s some pretty interesting content lined up for it so we hope to see you all there as it should be a tonne of fun and just a little bit crazy!

    Fixes:
    - fixed FPS drain on highlighted objects
    - removed emissivity on corner light and interior lights when turned off
    - fixed issue with being forwarded to the wrong block when using control panel
    - fixed issue with choppy animation for turrets
    - fixed issue with turrets that are targeting enemy objects even though they are already destroyed
    - fixed issue with turrets that are shooting their own subgrids (for example: wheels)

Will the stream just be the current live branch of Space Engineers? If you're doing a race and just playing with people in-house or anyone granted access to special branches, it would be cool to see what's happened with the wheel overhaul. I imagine that's part of the bigger thing mentioned, though.

Xocliw, Are you a glutton for punishment? A 24-hour stream?

This should prove to be both entertaining and humorous, especially around the 20th hour or so.
All of you should be real spaced-out cadets by then. Lol.

On a final note. Thank you guys & gals for fixing the control panel issue. I have a bad habit of being lazy and not documenting my components, which leads me to wonder what door, reactor, and etc. that I am working with.

With over 4,300 hours in the game, one would think that I should know better by now.

But what fun is there in doing that? If there isn't a problem for me to "engineer" a solution to, then dang-nab-it, I'm going to create my own. I guess that makes me a glutton for punishment as well.

You always can modify anything locally. Originally monospaced font was done in this way. Unfortunately, those mods cannot be pushed in workshop.

Can't wait for the major update! Xocliw will be up late! I'll do my best to participate. But I don't think I'll be able to stay awake.

First, very glad to see you guys still working on fixes. Also hoping I'll be able to participate in Xoc's stream if I can keep conscious lols. In seriousness though on to the bugs. Some good news and some bad news. Good news is that the animation itself is fixed with turrets as the notes say. Very glad to see that.

Now for the bad news. In some instances the missile turrets are still shooting and hitting the grids they are attached to blowing themselves and each other up. Hydrogen drain is still a thing in creative mode as is the block placement issues. I didn't showcase block placement in this additional followup mainly because the thought didn't occur to me. Also inconsistently have been having issues of extreme lag and speed drops when attempting to weld or grind something. The speed drops and such haven't been extremely consistent but imo are enough to warrant a mention. I've also in a few cases observed the pre-placed pirate stations spawning multiple drones at once. As I have prior I have a brief clip for you guys.

Hope it helps and that maybe you can see something I didn't. Also very big props for still working on getting this stuff fixed.

Not sure if this is an issue after this release, but never seen this behaviour before: I landed with a large grid on planet "Earth", decoupled a small grid and moved about 20km. Then the game performance dropped suddenly down to 0.1 game time. After some minutes the performance increased again to a level about 0.9, but not 1 any more. I returned to the large ship but this wasn't on the surface. I found it in a large hole/tunnel in the earth massive broken into pieces. Tried this 3 times and could reproduce it. Hope this is not a feature.

just curious but are you sure that the large grid didn't get decoupled from the surface in some way or wasn't attacked by a drone? from your description it sounds like the large grid ran out of power or fuel and crashed. Also do you have some pics or specs of the large grid/ship for point of reference?

Sadly this has been a issue for some time now with planets and to a lesser extent all voxels. It has something to do with the current problems with ships clipping through voxels. I myself keep waiting for that fix as it makes playing on planets even less desirable.

Start using the clean glass mods and never turn it off even when they say they "fixed" it?

I know its disheartening to see but, sometimes you can't trust people to do the "right thing".
