Major update once a month? It's been 9 weeks since the last one and I have a feeling we have to wait even longer cause you probably won't release anything until after the live stream in February :/

good bug fixes but it seems like those are hot fixes or small patches that would come out reguardless in the older days, seems they just spacing out small bug fixes and calling it a patch.
I hope they come back from their long vacation and merek starts working on the game again because it seems like they just have a couple guys working on it and they are just the bug fix team making bug fixes weekly updates and major updates
might come once every couple months and i hope they don't start taking longer and longer as time goes on to make major updates and the game start to die from lack of any updates at all

I would rather them take longer to get it right and wait a bit more, than for them to push out a half baked update because it was rushed, only to have them patch it 9 more times to correct issues that wouldn't have been there if they were given the proper time.

Wow, feels like the momentum has been lost. Does this mean that Keen will be wrapping things up soon?

Hmm you feel that ? Feels like bug fixes after bugfixes to repair bug fixexs after bugfixes..... You devs turn in a circle. But check out steam reviews. They getting worst. Hard reality. But if you devs aint listen to the big part of the players and the new players are not happy with it. This game is going down like the titanic. Ahh yeah and thx for deleting the post from steam !! You aint wana hear it but its the thruth.

    Updates are nice .....
    But -
Still no Real fix for batterys self filling with atmo thrusters in push-wait-push usage (on DS)
Still no fix for render distance of grids are "hardcoded" to ~3.5km and the "viewdistance" slider still ignored
(not even an "buffer" zone implemented - an logical way to prevent shutter/lags ......)
Still no fix for the non rendering of moons/planets on server (and only here ....)
Still no fix for power usage vs efficience (at 20% efficience you should at full trootle have an 100% power usage, but only 20% output - ATM it is even 20% power usage ......)
And i dont count the still no fixes for rotors/pistons etc. that are broken for years ......

So - yea - nice fix as "always" but nothing changed in the big picture ....

    Regards

This update caused my game to crash everytime a turret gets damaged or if I try to grind them down... Took me 11 hours to make myself a nice mobile base, just had to finish it up with some protection, now I can't. Hope this will get fixed soon.

Edit: Seems it happens when placing/removing turrets or cannons in survival. Doesn't crash when placing/removing other blocks.

I been asking for this for Ages, as this Limit put in fixed nothing at all in fact made things worse , when you had a ship spawn in yep you got a bit of a sim speed drop and lag spike, but
now u still get the sim speed drop and lag spike , but all so again when u come in range of the Grid @ 3.5km and if your on a world with grids placed around it at ranges it annoying Like Easy Starts Earth etc as the first Pirate ore station is 4,5 km away and soon as your easy start station is 3.5km u get the lag spike from the station removing from view then again as the pirates comes in to view.

when you are going to be fixing the ability to interact with doors and consoles that are modded and what about the issue that caused the personal glass elevator to stop working?

Same here, game crashes when loading a save where I was boarding a Cerberus Destroyer, seems to be related to turrets not having owner, every save where a turret is damaged enough to not have an owner as anytime I try to grind a turret it crashed too when reaching hacking point...

Damn this Cerberus is well defended, it even updated the game to not let me acquire it :-D

Is there any way to get the previous minor version to play with?

I don't think it has to do with owner. The crash seems to have to do with the wire frame model. I can destroy a turret np, but I can't place one or grind one.

Go to Steam -> Space Engineers -> properties -> betas -> select a previous version.

Sorry, I meant previous build (1.185.8) so that I can still load my saves ;-)
But anyway @suicideneil thank you that was very kind of you to take some time to write the beta selection how-to, sorry I was not clear enough and made you loose your time :-(
    --- Automerge ---
A "previous patch" beta channel would be nice, that way if a path breaks the game like this one, you subscribe to this channel then copy your game folder anywhere safe from steam update :)

Most recent subscribable beta version is 1.184.8 (not to be confused with 1.185.8) that is a bit more that 2 months old, so even if I had a compatible save that would be the hell of a rollback :))
I set-up my world to hold 100 saves backup, so I have plenty of backups compatible with 1.185.8, too bad we cannot subscribe to this channel. So let's wait for the hopefully soon coming fix, and maybe have a life 'til that :))

Visibility on progress of the game has dropped to minimal levels (following cessation of videos), updates remain minor, patches are not properly tested. I feel like there's one dev working at Keen now ...

I have big hope that the next major update brings much better optimization that it would be possible to play on multiplayer server. Let be honest. Players flee from SE on hundreds. There is not much time left. Its a great game for single player, but multi is essence. What a pity of this project. But the next major also do not change anything that really matters for players
