    Hello, Engineers!

It’s hard to believe, but Space Engineers was released six years ago. It seems like yesterday, but I think the time always runs very fast with the things you love. It would take the entire blog post to mention all names and people who contributed to the success of Space Engineers. But it were not only my colleagues who I’d like to thank, it’s also you, our players and modders, who helped us to shape the game, gave us great ideas and who constantly provided us with feedback.

This update is full of new things, improvements and surprises. We combined the things which were inspired by you, with the things we think you will like.
With this release, we are also releasing the Xbox optimizations and improved controller support.

Similar to our previous major releases, we decided to give you an opportunity to support the further development of Space Engineers. We have created a pack which consists of cosmetic items designed to enrich your game visually. The package is the second edition of the Decorative Pack, which was released back in April this year. None of the things in the package brings any advantage to players who purchase this DLC. The price of the Decorative Pack II is $3.99 USD, or your regional Steam equivalent, so if you wish to support us, check out the Decorative Pack II on Steam.

Holy shit! That dlc pack has a bunch of awesome stuff! But putting blocks behind paywall again splitting the community? Are you sure about this, Keen?

"this DLC is not pay to win because..."
Window blocks better cost the same PCU as 2 doors and count as 2 blocks then...
Tranparent displays allow more data to be displayed in front of cockpits without obstructing vision...

"We believe Space Engineers has too many blocks already, and it would increase the game's complexity too much."

I really appreciate you still working on the game Keen! Tho I have to agree, some of these Blocks are theoretically decorative, but I mean, come on... the ladders [Edit: stairs, not ladders], the railings, the WINDOW WALL.
I have been trying to construct my way around these things with the blocks we had while I was building for the last 6 years. Like this is essential building material. We have no other blocks like these.

    love the work tho
but please consider making alternatives for the core game.

You mean "this DLC", not "this update", I believe. The update added a small ladder block, everything you mention is in the DLC.

    @carnivore :
    • Dispenser
    • Jukebox
    • Small Control Seat
    • Lab Equipment
    • Shower
    • Window Walls
    • Medical Station
    • Transparent LCD
    • Grated Catwalks
    • Grated Stairs and Half Stairs
    • Railings
    • Rotating Light
    • Freight
Pretty sure those listed above are just the DLC, the other items at least the way I read it, are included in the update if you do not get the decorative pack. So 13 extra blocks seems accurate to me.

The Rusty and Damaged armor skins, small ladder, new scenario and bug fixes/optimizations are free, but the Decorative Pack II is available for purchase. :)

Hi, posthy. We released a free update and if players don't decide to purchase the Decorative Pack II, but they're playing with other users who did buy these blocks, they can still use them, only they won't be able to build/place them.

Lol.... Yes.. You ARE correct.. Technically.
However, if you are a creep and just throw those blocks (unfinished) at high speed they can be a devastating, albeit, decorative, weapon. Imagine seeing a jukebox flying through space as it crumbles your base. KEEN.. please somehow find a solution to this exploit!

I have bued the new DLC. Now during the start of the game and 1 or 2 minutes after it (in the main menu) i have 1 FPS, what makes it impossible to do something. After a few minutes it will stabelize it self. Hope u will fix this soon.

From marek's blog page in the News about the Space Engineers Xbox One Version:
    :
Does this mean we will be getting optimizations being made for the xbox version on PC? As someone with only 8gigs of ram this is something I hope for.

Now that I am home and got a chance to play around with the new DLC, I am thinking you guys should have gave everyone the catwalks and the rails or the stairs in the update and added the armor skins to the DLC pack.

The catwalks, rails and stairs would be useful for all to be able to build. It kind of feels cheaty for those that have the DLC that can build and use while those who don't can only use them and would not be able to build them if they were in a blueprint.

    Just my 2 cents.

I do like the DLC, just I can see where this will get a few feathers ruffled. (Not like the other packs haven't.)

I really like how well the railings, grated catwalks, and grated stairs are co-ordinated, and they have the right visual weight to them. I've often wanted to add railings to bare platforms. the cover walls seemed too massive and incomplete cover walls were too crude.

The windowed walls are available as a mod, so are the Transparent LCD's - and the mod offers more variations of it.
The railings are right out of Eiksters Decorations and More Mod, so you can get them there - there was a workshop submission that updated the textures on it...
    --- Automerge ---

I agree - Those blocks should be standard stock... I would also like to see a control for the speed at which the spinning light spins. Good God it's horribly fast!

This is pathetic Keen. Nothing more then pointless DLC cosmetic stuff and yet still no content for the other 50% of your player base. When are you going to give us PVP players some content, 6 years and still nothing.

    Whatsup with the "CowMooFlage armor"?
It's there in the skin-panel but can't click it.

    On hovering it says:
    "CowMooFlage Armor

@DigitalStone I am guessing that armor skin is one that can be found by the random drop pods (unidentified signals) like suit skins. I could be wrong just my take on it, not trying to make it sound like I know for sure, lol.
    --- Automerge ---
@Bullet_Force I guess you missed all the fixes that were listed...that covers 100% of the player base? :) I know in other threads it has been pointed out that SE is not a PvP based game, it is an option that many choose to do in this sandbox. :)
