Voxel deformation, server join time, needs improvement desperately

    Ok, so here's the thing:
    • Voxel deformations end up needing to be downloaded when you join a server.
    • Meteor impacts cause voxel deformations.
    • This causes the amount that needs to be downloaded to grow.
    I did some testing on an MP server that's taking 5 minutes of "----" ping on the F3 screen to join and it's downloading in the range of 50-150MB to join! The dedicated server is pushing it out at 0.5-1MB/sec, which really doesn't seem unreasonable.
    What seems unreasonable is that this happens ever. single. join. Even if nothing's changed. If there's a network hiccup and I get disconnected. If the server crashes. Whatever. 5 minutes to join. Really really not cool. When the game itself causes these voxel deformations with meteors configured, it's really really not cool for it to make it start taking this long to join.
