What if you lose your assembler?

I've been looking around for an answer to this question but haven't really seen it addressed. Its an unlikely scenario I imagine, but if you were to lose your assembler and had no access to parts for another one, is that game over? Are there ways to somehow create an assembler without starting out the game with an assembler? Other than commandeering the NPC ships and scrapping them or spawning in the "rescue ship" which almost feels like a cheat unless there's no other way to get an assembler.

Yep, you'll have to scrap stuff to make it. Shouldn't be too difficult though, crashed red ship had all the parts without any outside help.

You mentioned the only ways so far... If you lose your refinery or assembler and do not have the resources/parts (including scavenging stuff you built or that's in your game already), you may be SOL and have to restart. Unless you are willing to capture a cargo ship, scavenge a rescue ship or relaunch the save in Creative mode and drop in a new assembler.

If you are in a world with no asteroids, capture is your only solution for resources. When turrets and factions are enabled, the Private Sails and Business Shipments will be a good catch to recover quickly. When you replace your rescue ship with something like an escape pod, this also becomes an issue.
