Tribes: Unleashed - Modpack + Total Conversion [WIP]

    Imagine it's the future of the normal space engineers game......... and then a second later you realize it's the 90s


    Tribes: Unleashed is a work in progress modpack intended to recreate the Tribes universe as made by Dynamix, inc. As one of Tribes' biggest fans ("Firebomb" was my name as in Starsiege: Tribes years ago...) I am simply driven by the love of the universe of Tribes.

    Upon semi mastering your basic skills such as dodging meteors and harvesting asteroids, you will have the option of advancing your technology through the realm of Tribes. The full modpack will include a full range of base/ship functions, as seen in Tribes 1, while offering the more expensive, higher teched versions from Tribes 2.

    Source code is now open. I will now admit that delays in updates were due to going through and attempting to modify the source code. With full support from keen we will now push the mod towards more of a total conversion project.

    New Planned Features
    Actual (not mimicked) inventory stations. They will create only weapons, allow the change of armor, and heal
    Tribes 1-2 physics (yes this means skiing through your ship's long hallways - be a shame if gravity kills you)
    Experiment - Cybrid testing dummies that were made were shells with sensors that attacked you. We will look into using Medieval Engineers to create real Cybrid troopers.
    I'd hate to tease but CTF? - have flags that are linked to ingame faction. Ships park next to each other and hold competitions? (just a dream as of writing this)

    Work in Progress

    Changing game code - This will allow us to do things such modifying core block code to better suite a line of programming block code that will be posted soon. Changes to jetpack behavior (controlled, not constant, thrusts - basically a "cool down needed" version) That's all for now.

    (now off the backburner) CybridFleet sound and ship pack (for invader script) (pending a scripting creation to allow more AI-like behavior for fluid "metal/organic type ships- can't wait till we launch it :D)

    Arena 1 - Published - I will nitpick and make it more survival friendly, currently just a testing arena

    Not to shabby. I remember the good ole days of Tribes (Aeon was my name then). To have some textures and things from Tribes would be pretty cool to see in SE. Look forward to seeing if this can become a reality.

    I'm not going to lie - I've already considered the difficulty of things like the Fusion Mortar (which I think I already have a solution for, depending on how the API handles the modification...)

    In the end however, the only thing that I think shouldn't be a possibility are capturable flags (maybe, in time) and backpacks - the initial solution to that would be making every armor type with every pack, but that's also 6 armors vs a hell of a lot more lol.

    However, while I do have a full time job, etc etc, I do plan on releasing a full version given time. I believe my friend and I have a solid idea befitting of the Space Engineers universe. I'll leave his part in this a mystery - adds to a nice surprise for end game explorers :D

    A note for future onlookers...

    The CybridFleet mod is purely fanmade fiction. It's relation to starsiege is design style and the fact that they are machine-like. Currently, it is only to give an added way to die via fleet battle.

    Update: 02/24/2015

    Added in workshop Arena 1, a mod testing arena - obviously can be used for other purposes

    Updated WIP section for CybridFleet, briefly touching on it's delay until our dummy AI system is ready for public releases phases

    Keen has now made SE source code available, so -

    Updated thread to publicly show private parts of the project. Project is now setting it's goal to becoming a total conversion. Updates should be more constant as we are now longer fighting the game to gain access to sensitive parts.
