    Couple decent entries!
I just hope that you've got some "countermeasures" for bot & dummy account voting...

Really like #41, it uses almost all the resources available (especially the mighty sensors) and sems to be made quite thoughtful.
The crane in the map is just beautyful.

#24 Deserves Big credits for Video editing. Two thumbs up for HEAYAYEYAYEH :D

    Seems an average youtube video size of 30mins, 41 x 0.5 = 20.5 hours.
To help, if your short on time, the second video for #39 is the shortest one only 4 mins long, as I only recorded when there was action.
Besides which mission two is the one with the most action/explosions.

So instead of people playing through the missions and testing all of them, and after that period (lets say 1 month to give people time to test them all) there would be voting (without showing the results during the voting period), this all comes down to who is the most popular and famous around the scene or who can come up with the most dummy accounts or get most friends to vote for?

The fact that there are so many votes given just 11 hours after the voting begun, shows that people haven't played but few of them and as the votes keep on piling up on few entries, people are more likely to just look for those few entries and ingnore the rest.

I'm going to cast my vote on the last day after playing through every single entry. My criteria will be what I enjoyed the most to play.

Not who has the best video editing skills.
Not who has the most followers.
Not who has the most votes at that time.
Not who is famous around here.

I really think it would have been for the best if the devs were the ones to judge these entries as that way every entry would have been equally tested.

Almost 100 votes and not all entries have even been visited 100 times. Good thing I never even bothered to start making my level as this is not a competition of level design in any way.

I'm not a huge fan of the scenarios that start you with everything, I love it when you start with almost nothing and have to "work your way up". eg) You start with a horribly inadequate fighter and need to improve it to take on the enemy.

That is quite a list there! The word "escape seems" to be common :) Some good team fight maps. Nice creativity everyone! Fabricator, I really tried to make a short video and took an hour play-though down to a 5 min video on #3. Hazza! I'm unique, and special.

Voting, Seriously ? After all the competitions players held on forum, which showed how the voting is not objective ? :eek

Just a small example of how sceved this voting here will be even without dummy accounts.

What about if PewDiePie would have made an entry? I bet we all know who would have won the competition on day 1 "legitimately" for the fact that his entry would get thousands of real votes from real people who just registered to vote and never tried his entry or even checked the other entries. That's what happening here on a much smaller scale. People getting their friends to vote etc.

Devs could keep the voting, but award the rewards based on their own testing, that way every entry would have equal chance.

Entry 36 - 11 votes in two hours after vote start. Fabulous.
And there are a lot of entries with the same goals! Just ugh...

I vote for 28. It has some crucial flaws, but i like the idea and how it stands out among the other works.

I totally agree with most concerns here and especially Logi's idea of devs deciding who wins. Most players won't bother to vote or don't even know about the contest as they're not checking the forums.
There could be an additional "people vote" reward.

If not it will be mostly about who made more friends to vote or made more dummy acccounts. It will be hard to distinguish those from accounts of actual players that had to make an account just to vote as they're usually "forum lurking". Probably each vote would need to be IP checked at least.

At the very beginning there were entries with more votes than Workshop views (not even subscribtions) which I find hillarious as my own project got already over 1000 subscribtions while just couple votes.
People are just lazy and hate me all you want for saying that :p

I guess it's rather too late to change the contest rules anyway.

Yeah voting is stupid. It won't be fair. Number of votes shows only who have bigger audience or who is best in stalking friends and family -_-' Me too would like to see some kind of jury here.

    Btw
People try #14! It's fully automated mission meant to be played on survival. Design was dictated by simple rule. Easy as possible to implement. My station could lunch like NPC ship at any world. Few lines of code and it's happening =)

I must also say something to the vote. Voting on the forum is not good, it can be very easily influenced.

Authors of contest should rather take into account the statistics at the workshop. (visits / downloads)

Overall, should decide those who announced a contests.

When I did a contest for best maps for game Unreal (Unreal series),
    only I Reviewed.

It would be unfair if won someone who has only 10 downloads. Compared to someone who has 1000 download.

Workshop ? I dont think its good idea: for example when you creat map ( some players made maps first mounth ) it start creat your statistic from moment of map creation ( dasnt meter if its hiden or not ) so... map never get on first page in new creation and after you make in public map jump on page 20+ and never get normal swarm of 2500+ posts like good new map. Its one of many workshop flaws :D

Im for KSH devellopers judge these entries, so its fair for all.

By the same token, if someone's world has 1000 downloads, but it's pretty average as far as the contest goes. Steam's a bit funny when it comes to popularity of worlds and scripting mods.

But how can some unknown players get that many downloads compared to some more famous persons who have followers? Especially since some missions have been there for weeks already gathering downloads.

To have a fair competition, all entries should have been sent to devs who then

-release them all at once for download (so no entry has a headstart against others as it is now)
-release them so that the author is not shown (so no bias towards more well known people around here)
-put up strict rules to not advertise own entries (again to allow some chance for the not so famous authors)

How that could be arranged...I don't know.

I think that this is going to be unfair one way or another. If you do forum votes, it opens things up for unfair votes for people with many friends or followers. If you go by world downloads, then it is unfair to newer worlds compared to ones that have been up a month.

If we're going to change it, the most fair options is to just let Keen decide, IMO. Then nobody would have preferential treatment one way or another.

This should not be a popularity contest but the map creation contest and who can judge better than the one who had made the space games with levels before ?

I'd love to know what happens when the level(s) Keen want to put in the game, didn't win anything. I've heard of this sort of thing happening before.

I know some of the people that entered really need a new video card, just to be able to play the game to keep making content. *sigh*

Not really because keen wants to make levels people would like the most basically it's impossible to make this fair at all, keen just took this way. So don't act like this is unfair it is, but they can't stop it

They can stop this voting for good reasons as:

Voting has lost its significance and does not reflect the quality of the maps: voting was not opened for 60 min and there were 50 votes ( certainly all checked all the other maps in order to objectively evaluated and didnt vote for a friends when average video have 20min x 41 Entrys )

False forum ACCs just to votes: some maps on steam workshop had only ( Example: 7 views, but on SE forum had already over 8+ votes... quite normal )

When i make 100 accs it's within the rules, right? Because they can not stop it...everyone can do it...perfect logic...Why not make competition who make moust false accounts ?

I think they should just make it able to see who voted for who, so we can at least see if there are accounts created since 1 hour called POAS6786 if you know what i mean...

recognize the old forum members, so in case someone have like 2x more vote than the second, we can see if he have votes from recent, unknown accounts

Strangly enough though those ones are not winning actually a fairly decent one is winning right now. Why do you complain about something that can't be changed it just wastes time.

Well I check some of these and I think the voting is not really the best, I if the devs voting only is can be better, but I`m not sure not too late to change rules... Maybe I only worry about one thing, what will garantee to it cannot be cheat in the vote? oO register/vote register/vote register/vote register/vote register/vote :D
