    Guys I need help
I bought this game on the grounds that I suspected that, like War Thunder and other games at a similar stage of development, that a Mac version would be released at some point in the future. In the meantime I planned to play the game via Windows Steam using Crossover. This method has worked before with other games, War Thunder worked seemlessly using this method, not as good as the native version of course but was still performing very nicely and the game was just as playable. Planetside 2 had serious frame-lag but the game would launch and play, even if the ridiculous amount of lag stopped me from playing.
This is different, I'm trying to launch the game and, as always when using Crossover Steam, it comes up with a first-time setup saying "installing 1 of 2: Direct X" or something similar, definately Direct X though, then the box dissapears and my steam logo turns green and claims I'm in-game for about a second or two and then goes back to blue to say I'm not playing any more. At no time does the game launch nor does an error message appear. The first time I tried to launch the game it did install something else "installing 2 of 2" as I've had with my other games, what software it is exactly eludes me but it has not tried to install this whenever I've tried to run the game since, I'm assuming it can detect the software is already installed into whatever file Crossover puts it in.
I've heard of others with this problem, but they're all running windows machines and their solutions usually involve reinstalling Direct X or something which is a problem for me. I know quite a bit about my machine and even programming... but only for Macs, this is over my head as I've never learnt about this kind of depths on Windows machines. If anyone knows how Crossover works and can find a solution for this problem I would be really appreciative.
I'll take this moment just to make a personal plea to the developers (I know you read these things), please consider a Mac port for this game in the not too distant future. I know it's early in development but War Thunder has not been out a heck of a lot longer and they managed it, they're even porting to PS4 and iOS! I'm not expecting those kind of feats from a relatively small game company and a relatively new game but is a Mac and Linux port too much to ask when others in a similar situation have been able to do just that. I mean yes Gaijin is a considerably bigger company but War Thunder is a free-to-play so they must have realised that a Mac port at least was worthwhile. You wanna know why? Because there are approximately 75 million people on Steam and according to May 2010 11% of purchases on Steam were from Mac gamers, and that statistic can only have risen these last 4 years. That's a potential of a minimum of about 7.5 million gamers who can't play this game and can't even play it via Crossover. Please see that unlike with a free-to-play game that missing out on more than 11% of your target audience cannot be a wise business move. That's not including the missed audience from linux gamers. Please think about it seriously, if a free-to-play can do it a £15 game can. Even if you don't think it is worth your while from this, £85.75 million potential income from Mac sales surely must. Yes this is all very approximate and the number of gamers downloading steam is proportional to the amount that use it regularly or would want to download the game but considering what I've said about the percentage of Mac gamers rising and the fact the based on what I played of this game on a friend's machine, and the stunning reviews I keep hearing about it, plus all the attention it is getting via Youtube I can see a lot of people getting this game, and maybe that figure is not so far fetched after all.
Please consider it, and as I say if a free-to-play can do it, you guys can.

I've had the same issue while attempting to use Crossover/Wineskin, it is linked to the fact that Macs have no support for .net 4.0 framework, and SE uses that for their game. There is an alternative software for Macs called Mono but it is not equivalent or a replacement for the actual software. I would try to download a .net 4.0 installation thru winetricks or a wrapper as I have. The only issue I've had now was with some missing audio files or permission.

Just to confirm, using this method have you got this game working on your machine (disregarding sound, is the game playable?).

No, the game is no playable as some missing audio issue causes the game to not start, and just brings up the "couldn't start game, submit log to developers?" prompt.

Yeah, I got the same thing. Damn, though thanks for your help, lets just hope the devs decide to bring a Mac port out!
