    Hey everyone!

Will manual saving be implemented on the dedicated server side like it is on client/peer server setup?

At the moment the server only seems to auto save, the only way to manually save is by hitting save in the menu on the client side, which only saves to the clients disc that ran the save. Shouldn't there be some way through some kind of client-admin command to instruct the server to execute a save. For instance, Minecraft can be given the "/save-all" command and the server executes a manual save. This would be especially useful as I always turn off auto-saving as it can be really annoying!

Also when shutting down the dedicated server it does not seem to save at all with auto-saving off at least (I have yet to test that with it on), surely this is an obvious major problem, and yet no-one seems to be complaining about it on the forum!

Not being able to have the server save when it shuts down, at the very least, makes the dedicated server in its current state pretty useless!

I would of thought manual-saving and shutdown-saving are the same code just executed in different ways!

Please add these two, what I believe to be, very basic features, that are already (through a very good manual save system) in the client/peer setup! Thank you Keen team, for a great game!

100% agree. Manual save is absolutely mandatory. But, so is a server that runs without rubberbanding.. but we will get there!

Yes this one thing is killing my life, now, since everyone is not ready for restart yet... but when they are server takes WAY longer than 5 min to save 10-15min on my side.. sometimes 7 min, its up and down with length of time... so hard to schedule anything

    taskkill /IM SpaceEngineersDedicated.exe
this will stop dedicated server correctly, saving the world etc
to stop it immediately add argument "/f", that will kill server without asking to stop and without saving the world

Woohoo! A method for dedicated server shutdown saving with the latest patch, nice one keen :) Wonder if this is in response to this post, either way great work!

Indeed! Can you now enter this into the console window the server opens, or do we need to open a new command window for this I wonder? Someone check to confirm ;)

I'd imagine its from a second command window, as try as I might I can not enter any commands into the server console. Also unsure if this command is for console mode or service mode or both?

By the looks of it, it would kill all running instances in service mode.. or none.

Yeah, that has been my experience before now so no surprise there..

    Still, better than nothing

If the method for entering commands into the server while its running seems to be from a second command window, might we assume their is a hidden command to make the server run a manual save also?

    Any response mods?
