    Well, my section is laid out like this, so I'm going to assume whatever those numbers are, are wrong:

    <Administrators>
    <unsignedLong>STEAM_0:0:xxxxxxxx</unsignedLong>
    <unsignedLong>STEAM_0:1:xxxxxxxx</unsignedLong>
    </Administrators>
    Look for an alternate method of getting your userID that matches what I have, and you'll be golden... ...I think... :)

    I don't know about the formatting int he file, but the user ID numbers Fire_Fly had are correct.

    • What is a steam ID?
    • A steam ID is a unique identifier automatically assigned to each steam account. It has the form STEAM:x:x:xxx, where the x's represent numbers
    My guess is he/you are looking at a webpage like a profile page and assuming the digits at the end of the profile URL are your ID. They are not.. But you can paste that profile link into numerous online steam id locators and churn up the proper string that will start with STEAM_x_x:xxxxxxxxx

    The long code is called a Steam 64 ID, it is not what games/apps use, least not SE nor any game I've run a dedicated server with.

    I'm not spreading any misinformation at all.. I'm telling you a fact. Like the OP, I tried that 64-bit version, it did not work and I was not an admin on my own server. I switched to the non-64 version, as recommended by someone on the Steam SE forums, and it worked perfectly fine. DId something change since that ancient article was posted? Maybe, I don't know. I can only tell you what worked for me. After your snide and snarky comment, I retried my Steam64 ID, and guess what - Still does not work. Maybe it did when the game first came out? Maybe it's just isolated to certain people? I don't know and I couldn't care less. I told the OP exactly what I did that made it work, and that others told me. Don't like it, so be it. But what I said to do works, regardless of what the "official Guide" might say.

    Also note the long code (Steam64) DOES look similar to a Steam GROUP ID, which in fact IS what you use if you want to set your server to be group accessable only, and a great example of how to get that code is directly at the bottom of that official guide.

    And if I am the exception to the rule, I apologize, but it is not misinformation. OP Due note as pointed out, it does say on the "Official Guide" to use the Steam 64 ID.. It did not work for me, not when I first tried a year or so ago, and still not today after being accused of misinformation. Try both, use what works. Yours didn't work, try my way. All I can say..

    In my DS config file:
    Code:
      <Administrators>
      <unsignedLong>76561197996829390</unsignedLong>
      <unsignedLong>76561198018796995</unsignedLong>
      </Administrators>
    That was automatically generated by the dedicated server exe that comes with Space Engineers, and both players have admin privileges.

    Look at the ID I just posted, now look at the link to my steam profile: https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197996829390

    Well I don't know what to say.. The ones I posted are what I put into my official spaceengineersdedicated.exe over a year ago, and as of the day I posted my 1st reply up above, that is what my .cfg file still shows. It works fine for me, always has, and since the OP has what you guys have, and I had that same problem before, that's why I made my suggestion.
    Hopefully the OP will report back to us and tell us whether it worked for him or not as well... Still waiting to hear from him..

    I had the same problem, 64bit ID's didn't work.
    I did tried without the "STEAM_0:0:"
    After all, this was the solution for my server to

    Glad to help and glad my solution (which I did find elsewhere myself when it happened to me) worked for someone else other than me. Also, thanks for posting and letting us know, certain others claimed I was incorrect, when I knew I wasn't. Just saying... :)
