So after many hours of pain and suffering i have fixed both these issues on my machine and wanted to share with everyone that might have one or BOTH of these problems.

    Graphics card not supported crash
    Go into Users>Username>AppData>Roaming>SpaceEngineers
Find the SpaceEngineers.CFG file and open it with notepad
Click on edit and then Find, in find type VideoAdapter click find next
You should see this string of text

    <Key xsi:type="xsd:string">VideoAdapter</Key>
<Value xsi:type="xsd:string">0</Value> <---- If this is set to 1 change it to 0
    Save and close the file.

This next issue will cause you to also get the Graphics card not supported error message but should also throw up a windows error saying that your Display Driver has stopped responding and has been reset. This error is not always sent though.

Display driver has stopped responding and has been restarted/reset crash
Open registry editor run > regedit > HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\GraphicsDrivers
in the box to the right there may or may not be something called TdrDelay with a data value of (2). If you see it double click it and change the value to (8) ( these are seconds that windows allows before it resets your display drivers )
If you do not see it do not worry, just right click on a open space and create a new Dword and name it TdrDelay, after that double click that and set value to 8. Now reboot.

This should end many peoples problems who have one or both of these issues. Only do what i said above because messing with any other settings could really mess up your system but if you do just like i outlined there will be no issues.

P.S. Over clocking your Graphics card can cause the display driver has stopped responding error, just added this to let you know.

Good luck Engineers and i hope this makes everyones day.

    Diewoe,

Thanks for this tip, it solved my "graphics card not supported" crash. Several Days ago, I upgraded my notebook computer to windows 10 from 8.1, and ever since, wasn't able to get either Space Engineers or Medieval Engineers to use my nvidia 760m GPU. The game would load using only my integrated intel HD Graphics 4600. When I tried switching to my discrete card, the game would crash with the error.

I followed your directions in the first section above, and was up and running in literally 30 seconds!

This solved my issue for both games, and they now seem to run fine.

Thanks again for posting this fix, countless hours saved!

Glad to have helped. Happy that my countless hours of digging has helped someone else get back up and gaming. It makes it all worth it knowing i helped someone else not feel the frustration i went through trying to find these fixes lol.

Just encountered this with my Nvidia GTX 675M and your fix worked when fresh installs and reboots didn't. Thanks!
