Gate Opener

- A simple device designed to open vertical castle gates from the outside

Instructions:

1) Place a Rope Ending on the bottom-center of a vertical gate.

2) Slowly push the device against the gate so that the center of the Rope Drum is vertically aligned with the Rope Ending on the gate.

3) Attach the Rope Ending on the gate to the Rope Drum on the device.

4) (gently) Use the Turn Wheel Cross to raise the gate. Optionally, lower the gate back down by spinning the Turn Wheel Cross in the opposite direction.

I was thinking a fork lift design might be better, if not faster.

 

I dunno, that is pretty fast, but in survival you may have trouble placing a hook on the end of someone's gate (depends how they implement survival building).
After you take over/storm the place its a good way to keep the gate intact, too.

Only other problem I foresee is the big-ass double gates, laden with weights and having a whole pulley system behind it, which could cause some trouble when trying to lift it. The actual design though could easily have an armour coat surrounding it to protect the operator.

 

All that would need to be done to defend against this is to use ropes to tie the gate down.

i know its week due to the stone walls being easyier to destroy than wood but im hoping that changes

any defensive tips would be helpful

 

i wonder why don't you use automatic gate instead
