Hi I was wondering if there was a tool available where you can edit the cfg to edit the inventory space of the players. I have a map created and people have built their empires on them and don't wana have to delete them to edit the configuration of backpack space. PlezTankyou :D

Are you talking about needing/wanting to expand the g-menu space?

Just stop the server, adjust inventory space to 10x and launch the game.

Yeah, it's a fancy program called notepad. :p

Open the SpaceEngineers-Dedicated.cfg file and change this setting:
    Code:
    <InventorySizeMultiplier>20</InventorySizeMultiplier>
    20 x 400 = 8000

Also... make a backup of everything before you change anything. ;)

What if you only wanted to change the astronauts inventory, not the multiplier.

I'd be happier with x1 if I could have just x3 on the astronaut only. Otherwise, 400L is just painful to do anything with.

400L is a lot of stuff.
    [FONT= &#39]400L = 106 gal (US)
    = 88 gal (UK)[/FONT]
[FONT= &#39]To be honest, maybe 100L would fit in the packs present in the game, and that's pushing it. It's made challenging for a reason.[/FONT]

Well, yeah, but you couldn't possibly reach your back pack anyway. I've always assumed that is full of life support equipment, not your inventory.

I always envision a tote you've got on a tether which would make your personal inventory limit kind of arbitrary as the tote could just be netting that could expand as required.

I can see simulation limiting the ability to actually show a tote of that sort but it would be cool. However, our personal maneuverability should be dependent on our total mass. Out total mass is kept track of but our jetpacks don't account for our inventory mass as it should. So we flit about like little birds even though we've got 12 tons of plates on us. Oh well, it's alpha right?

Currently there isn't a way to modify the container size of just one inventory. All in-game inventories scale the same based on the server config setting and the base size of each inventory is defined in the code, not in the data files, iirc.

With the dedicated server program, the config file is in the same dir as the mods and saves folders.
If you can't access that I'd say contact the server host help desk and ask them to get involved. If they wont, then find a host who will be more accommodating once your current plan is up.

Actually, you can edit the inventory volume of indiviual blocks by editing they're inventory dimensions in the cubeblocks.sbc file. But I don't know where the inventory dimensions for the player reside. That might be hard coded.

What part did you edit? Did you change just the cargo blocks or did you find the players inventory definition?

The developers just haven't told us about the dimensional pockets in the backpack that reduce the mass to near zero, that's all it is.

I went ahead and just adjusted the global multiplier for capacity in my save game. But I too am interested in if there is a player inventory dimension parameter.
