Is there any simple way to share a world with a friend?

    Explanation
Two other friends and I play a survival planet world and have alot of fun when we get to all play together, but we can not always play at the same time.
Is there a way using steam cloud or some such to sync the world between our computers, that way if one of us plays in the world single player the changes go to all the other players? Then we can still play multiplayer when we all get a chance.

I know a dedicated server would be the best solution I have a server in fact, but running it all the time would use quite a bit of electricity. And all we really need to do is sync the world files, and then one of us can host when we want to play together.

No. What you and your friends would have to do is each time someone finishes, they need to save and update to the workshop. Who ever plays next looks up the latest timestamp world map and downloads that, plays, then saves and uploads to their workshop.

The real solution is to pool funds for a server for like $20

The only solution I could think of is taking the save folder (located in User/AppData/Roaming/SpaceEngineers/saves/number/save name) and send it to the others each time someone played in it. It is complicated but (if you are able to send it with an email or something like that) free.
