I haven't seen this one before, just came across it. Wondered what players thought, it looks really smart for the interiors and exteriors as good as you can build I suppose.

There is the need to get the resources etc to build your new ship, also life support to keep active plus the usual power and what not to keep stocked up.

I'm going to get this too, having got Empyrion this is yet another although this looks better than most around. That doesn't mean much though as we know. Its what you can do with the game that matters. So I'll try keep this thread posted with some ship designs and news.

Video below is quite good and gives a nice intro I think to anyone that may be interested in the game. There is also a channel on YT from the makers, just search for the game and you'll find it.

Its on Steam early access, with MP & SP (online) modes. At present there is little to do, but it does look like they want the game to make an impact on the space building genre. I think it could just do that.

Anyone got the game can give any insights would be nice. I'll be getting this later today, so will have a good look.

Mods, if there is already a thread for this game please merge this. I couldn't find one though. :)

I have to bump this, I know there is also another thread regards this game, but as with this thread, it got no interested browsers.

I think though, this could be a game geared very much at the survival side of the SE playerbase. Plus of course the MP side, as this has MP built in servers. Also for realism, it is very indepth.

Now as said its a deep game, both build wise and play wise. Not the easiest to get your head around, I've tried and have still not got into the game. I want to get into it, its just.. well, I will give it a go for sure soon, that's why I'm putting it here.

It looks fantastic for a block building game, it also has a tremendous ingame control system, very realistic via consoles/screens in your ship. A detailed management system etc.

They have added warp drive and are in the early stages of planets. Now planets won't be landable (probably). The game is aimed at space exploration and ship building/survival, its not planetside.
They are putting soo much into the game, yet it still seems under-used. So I thought I would point it out again, just incase anyone is interested and missed seeing the thread.

I'm certainly interested and will be following this channel, he seems keen on the game and enjoys its depth. Maybe it will give me enough 'get up and go', to finally get into the Rift. I really want to love this game, I think I may at some point. It certainly looks to deserve a loyal playerbase.

This is the playlist so far. I hope he keeps doing these.

I've had the game for some time, but never got into it, but with the new features, it looks 'too good' to not try giving it a go.

Quick edit: this is the dev YT channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/SplitPolygonOfficial

I only checked out the first video. I think the overhead view for designing the ship can come in handy for helping visualize the ship while building as oppose to working for an hour on a section and deciding you don't like it. For big builds that could be useful.
I'm curious to know if you can add a floor and simply make it a raised ceiling of the first floor because looking at his ship I think I would feel claustaphobic. I like open rooms.
The only thing I disn't really see was putting in fine details. I saw you could do blocks without making a room and if those work inside I guess it could work for what I have in mind.

There are tall rooms in the game like Atriums. Putting two blocks on top of each other then just adding a ceiling to the top block and fllor to the lower first block (I think), would give you double height, or triple or whatever. They have overhauled the editor recently and I'm lost too, to be honest. Try loading a blueprint of an existing ship into the editor and unpick it for ideas (I guess), might be the thing to do. ;)

I was thinking abut that build editor yesterday. It's reminds me of making scenario dungeons for dnd using the plastic walls and pillars n whatnot. Then I realized this would be awesome for a game like skyrim where everybody can make their own little dungeons without needing too much programming knowledge.
