Latest update keeps removing my drive!

    I don't know what on earth is happening with the latest mini update, but it keeps hiding my partitioned drive (DATA E: ) on my laptop after crashing a few seconds into game.

    Dare not use the game now as a result, which is a great disappointment.

    What other details do you need me to submit?

    Open %appdata%\MedievalEngineers\
    Find MedievalEngineers.log and VRageRender-DirectX11.log

    I have searched for both MedievalEngineers.log and VRageRender-Dirext11.log in the ME folder and have found neither (even did a search).

    I'm using steam BTW.

    Are they XML documents? And are they found in MedievalEngineers\Bin64 ?

    They are not in steam folder. As CptTwinkie said they are in appdata folder.

    I had hoped the latest update would have fixed this, but the same problem is persisting and removing my game drive every time it crashes.

    There are no errors coming from the game. It looks like the drive disconnecting is what is crashing the game. I have no idea why your drive is disconnecting. Maybe it's not behaving well under a heavy workload?

    I recommend installing the game to your c drive to check if it has the same behavior there. It looks like you have plenty of free space for it at the moment.
    Probably unrelated, but I also noticed that your graphics drivers are a little out of date. Get the latest and greatest from https://www.geforce.com/Drivers

    I tried playing a game of Colony Survival, hosting a server today and the same crash occurred: seems to be with me hosting a game? The strange thing is that I've had hours of gameplay with ME playing with my friend on a friend server and have had no problems until recently (but like I say, the same thing is happening now with Colony Survival - which I only just tried for the first time at hosting a server today: and again it played for a bit and then decided to crash, and then my drive was removed).

    I'm not the most tech savvy person in the world either lol, I will try updating the graphics card however.

    That doesn't really make any sense. I mean graphics cards shouldn't affect hard drive connectivity. You should probably run some diagnostics on that drive. Hopefully the disc is alright (data safe). It could also be a power issue like a bad connection or power saving features are activating when they should not be. I wouldn't ignore a hard drive failing in this way.

    It seems that the hardrive disconnects every time a game crashes on steam - some pre-set program that came with the computer asks me if I want to "remove the drive". Possibly over zealous protection?
