Hi everyone. Sorry if this question has been asked already, I couldn't find it using the forum search.

Recently, a few patches back, the LCD textures in many mods including my own has stopped glowing. The textures are still visible, but the glow is gone and the textures look dull when not in direct light. I have tried saving the .dds texture files with many different settings hoping to get lucky and get the right settings but I am not getting anywhere with it.

I see that the default vanilla textures supplied by Keen still glow, leading me to the conclusion that it can still work, but we need some input from someone "in the know". If anyone knows how the new .dds files need to be set up, please let me know.

Phoenix actually told me how to fix this yesterday. Invert the alpha channel, make it black rather than white. Not sure if it was an intentional change or if it's one of these "only affects mods" issues as I can't find any official note regarding the changes. Either way I was able to fix mine by doing this.

Thanks Kham I appreciate the response. I will give this a try later on and see if it will do the trick. :)

Ok I am still having some issues. Should I be using the TexturePacking tool supplied by Keen for LCD textures? If so should I be using the NO_ALPHA or the WITH_ALPHA Profile? Or should I set up my own profile? And with what settings?

When I first made this mod, I was able to simply save my textures in Photoshop using the Nvidia DDS plugin as a DXT5 dds format. I have messed around with the settings in the Nvidia plugin, but there seems to be no "Invert Alpha" option.

If I should be using the TexturePacking tool, can you please clarify which channel is for what? For example, the colored image should be what? AO? And then the Alpha image (or colormask?) should be black? I wish a proper guide would be made for this as the old LCD texture guide (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=394840215) doesn't give the results I desire anymore.

I just edited my textures via Photoshop. When you open your texture file, got to the channels tab (usually on the right hand side, next to layers). If the alpha channel is already listed then click on it and change it to black, ensuring it retains it's name. If it doesn't already list the alpha channel, click the new alpha mask button at the bottom and then make it black. Save and check it out in game.

Thank You so much Kham! That was exactly the explanation I needed. My LCD textures now glow like before. It was actually a surprisingly easy fix once I understood what you meant. Thanks again Kham, you are a gentleman and a scholar. :)
