    Before the forum upgrade there was a thread that had a listing of all the blocks and if they were airtight or not (could hold a pressure seal).

    I can't find that thread now :(

    Does anyone have this information?

    I have my old list from that thread; dunno how up-to-date it is now, but might as well throw it in here as a starting point.

    Table form would be nice, but stupid question... what does O mean? I am assuming the "Depending on which way it's orientation is and which side you are trying to seal".

    Yes. The original key was

    Y = yes (any orientation )
    N = not airtight at all
    O = Orentation dependant

    This info is very useful, been wondering if anybody had it. Would you mind if I added it to my table here?
    https://forums.keenswh.com/threads/all-block-data.7356258/
    I've been compiling all information possible on all blocks, it would make a great addition :)
    Edit: You would be credited of course, assuming it is your gathered information. If not, can you give me the source thread?

    Has anyone experimented with just when windows are airtight and when there are not? Is it at all possible to use window faces or sides (i.e. triangular pieces) in a pressurized room?

    Go right ahead. :) And you do realize that table of yours is basically the foundation of a wiki, right?

    I had to redesign some segments of the Gladius to account for triangular pieces not blocking airflow like they appear to. Here's an old pic I took:
    [IMG]

    This will not keep air sealed. As far as I understand the flood-fill thingy it uses, it basically looks at each face of a block, and checks to see if it's tagged as "airtight: y/n". Since half the block is open space, KSH set that face as "n,", so that block is not airtight. Same thing for the angled block behind it.

    Some things, however, are slightly harder to explain ...

    Hmm, perhaps the slopes are borked and register as sealed sideways, but not when the model actually suggests they are sealing?

    Its been added, and you credited ;) And yeah I do, unfortunately don't have time to add such info to the wiki myself. The poor wiki is falling apart, it still doesn't even have info on oxygen blocks. I tried to ask in their bug/suggestion thread when the new forum was made to add google doc media embeds to the forum so I could just embed the chart without a link through, but they never responded to me. Kind of wish they'd pin the thread, everything is there. Yet it just falls out of view so quickly. I've collected all this info to help people yet so few see it xP

    If it's any consolation, Textor had the same thing going on yesterday until I logged in and informed him that Oxygen Generators are not airtight.

    If they did indeed give block faces a fixed "airtight yes/no" state, and only check for each individual block, it can't ever work properly. Even when all block faces are correctly set (which they do not appear to be currently), you'd still have no idea what to set triangular pieces to. They should be airtight in certain arrangements and not airtight in others.

    it would be nice if the block outline indicated somehow when placing the block. like that red/green block highlight could have something that showed..

    I've found that conveyor blocks need to be completely contained in other blocks in order to seal. If you just use their edges to another block, that's not a true seal BUT the vents will tell you that it is and the oxygen level of the room will be High. That is, until you take your helmet off and you die in a second.

    if the oxygen reads high but you still die, that sounds like a bug.. you've tested that this happens then doesn't happen when the conveyor has blocks on it's main sides?

    conveyors are airtight
    conveyor sorters are not airtight

    touching edges is enough to be airtight, but not if you touch with edge of not airtight block (like triangle window, sorter, timer, etc.)

    Correct. Just to make it clear, my entire ship and all of it's compartments have always shown 4 green boxes on the vents and show 100% pressurized when accessing them. I have double door airlocks between all compartments. However, I died every time within 0 to 4 seconds after I took my helmet off. For the longest time, it was instant death in every compartment. I then started replacing more and more conveyor tubes with conveyor blocks. Eventually, I got it where I could be in my bow hanger without dying, but couldn't in the stern or main area. Mind you, every vent showed 4 green, always. Then I found a small conveyor tunnel between the main area and the stern hanger that had a c.block only connected by edges. I added another block further inside and then I could actually take my helmet off in the main area and I wouldn't die!

    However, I had just 3 blocks of glass overlooking my bow hanger from the bridge. I replaced those with angled windows for better perspective and now I die within 4 seconds after taking my helmet off either in the main area or bow hanger. Remember that my bow hanger used to allow me to go without the helmet. Even if I put the glass configuration back to what it was (3 squares), I still now die within 4 seconds of taking off my helmet.

    All this with all vents showing green and 100% pressurization.

    It has been HIGHLY frustrating for me so I've just turned off all oxygen and will wait until Keen gets the code working.

    Oh how I wish this was true. It's however not in my ship and another server player found the same issue. C.Blocks, to be 100% sealed, need to be buried in blocks. The edges are not enough, at least on our server. :(
