Need help, wierd bug with vents on stations

I have a wierd bug with my vents on my station, whenever I load the game they work fine, but the moment I either disconnect or connect a small ship to the station, the vents stop working entirely unless said small ship is attached through a connector. Am I using the vents wrong or is this a bug? If someone might know a way to fix this please share.

Edit- any 02/H2 generators and Tanks stop working on the station as well, unless the small ship is docked with the station. It's not a power thing because if I load the world with the small ship undocked, then everything on the station works fine untill I dock the ship. Then everything only works when andtand only when ship is docked through a connector.

 

Do you have tank groups on both station and ship?

One issue I've run into is if both groups have the same name the hotbar controls will control both when connected.

 

That's a good idea, but no I do not have the tanks in groups.
