I seem to be suffering a completely unique issue. I cant seem to find any remotely related problems anywhere else.

As the title says, absolutely NO AI controlled ship or structure spawns in customized worlds, hostile or otherwise. Infact the advanced options check list 'cargo ships' is permanently grayed out and un-check-able regardless of the world type or size restrictions. While enemy 'drones' is still a check-able option it has no effect on weather enemies spawn or not.

This issue cropped up with the planets expansion and has been prevalent ever since. I have tried and completed every single technical fix I can think of upto and including a complete purge and reinstall of the game files. the problem still persists.
I hope this is a fixable problem. Space engineers is no fun without challenge.

The option has been deactivated in dx11 use, because the combination of planets and cargo ships maybe cause lag, bug, or save game corruption. you can still activate it by hand in the sandbox.sbc file in your save folder of the world you choose, search for "<CargoShipsEnabled>false</CargoShipsEnabled>" and set it to True, or you can switch back to directx 9, since there are no planets in this directx version, the cargo ships can be enabled there. (last time i checked, not sure with recent update)

Spent a week trying to get the pirate ships to show up.
    Downloaded every hostile mod
    Did the direct x 11 to direct x 9 a few times.
Today the DirectX 9 trick worked. Now i'm dialing it back a bit as i had way too much hostile :) but ---- FINALLY. not alone out there staring at the stars.

This is still an existing issue!
Any of the 'help' so far has just been dead ends. I don't have the faintest clue how to edit or even find the necessary code to force AI spawns in DX11 and so far DX9 is so buggy that its unplayable.

If this is still a problem you either have some mods that mess with it, or you have not updated you game. since the last update cargo ship and its full functionality have been fixed and implimented. so either reinstal the game. or follow the fix in the savegame files. or update to the latest version. it is posible tha the mods that you downloaded to get acression are not cousing it to not apear. turn of any and all AI/cargo/pirate/random spawn related mods. reinstal the game, update properly. and then try it again if all else fails.

all the information i gave you before worked for everyone else. if you didnt understand how you should have asked sooner for more precise information.

Ofc the simpelest solution to your problem is, that you did all teh fixes right. but never actualy toggled them on after fixing it.

    anyway...

right now just updating the game should work. if been playing with cargo ship on since the begin of the game. so this is not a issue. just seem to be a issue on your side still atm, wich is why i suspect its not the game. but its your mods or pc or something on your end.

give me more info. if you got it. i dont know how else to help you. it should properly work, honestly its getting rid of pirate ships that is my problem now. sometimes iam just not in the mood to fight them..
    --- Automerge ---
if you want to do it manualy

    C:\Users\"your name"\AppData\Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Saves\

in that folder is a folder with a big number as name. open it.
inside you wil find all your save games.

open de folder of the save game you fish to adjust

inside that folder are some files what you are looking for is:

    "Sandbox.sbc"

open this with notepad, or anyother simple small texeditor

now lets hope you picked notepad, if so you can press

CTRL+F and this with open up the search menu.

    search for
    <CargoShipsEnabled>false</CargoShipsEnabled>

change the "false" in the middle there to "True"

en tada, that savegame wil have cargoships

do notice that dx11 or dx9 makes no difference anymore since latest update.

cargo ships work in both. ofcourse the option should now nolonger be grayed out. so you should be able to just change the settings. but please make sure you uninstal any mod that adjusted this that you tought that could fix it. becasue they wil most likely mess it up right now.
