Okim Industries Mods Showcase

    Hi.
    I`m quite new to the block modding in Space Engineers and I wish to post here some of my mods. To make a single thread for all of them much like other modders do.

    So, the mods. The Okim Indusrties (or OKI for short) developed stuff. Currently I have 13 different weapon blocks put into caliber sets. Each set has 3 guns that are either fixed, turrets or broadside mounts and can be put on small and/or large ship. These sets can also be obtained as a single mod here (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=429053416)). There is also a small cargo ship expansion mod that adds a couple of heavily armed ships to fight against. AND a new mod is being produced that will add turrets for tanks and gun-arms for mechs.


    - 23mm defense gun set (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=419259986)
    This automatic autocannon has the same damage per minute as gatlings, but have twice as lower rate of fire at a cost of twice as greater damage. Comes in three variants - small ship fixed gun, small ship turret (with lower ROF) and large ship turret.

    The gun is best used against small ships. It can target meteors and missiles, but is less effective at doing this than the gatlings.

    - 50mm support gun set (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=416810572)
    Long range (1km max) accurate gun. Not the 'true' sniper gun due to the not-so-fast projectile, but can be used to snipe the turrets from the enemy ships/stations. Comes in small ship fixed variant, small ship turret and large ship quad barrel turret.

    The gun don`t have enough power to damage even light armor blocks in one go making it a bit less effective against armored targets.

    - 122mm assault gun set (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=417961851)
    Large caliber gun that is designed to combat armored targets and armor blocks in particular. Comes in small ship huge fixed gun variant, large ship broadside mount and large ship turret.
    Gun has slow rate of fire and slow moving projectile, but a single hit will instantly destroy light armor block or any other block with similar durability. Best used in packs to maximize damage. A compact broadside mount can be used to create devastating broadside batteries on your capital ships.

    - 230mm battlecannon set (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=420970766)
    Large cannon with devastating firepower and pretty good range (1.2 km). Comes in three different mount types for large ships only - fixed, broadside and turret.

    Battlecannon can destroy 3x3 heavy armor blocks in one shot and is quite effective at ripping off armor plating from capital ships. The slow moving projectile is, however, too inefficient at hitting fast/small targets. Turret is limited in horizontal and vertical rotation making it effective only in a small forward facing arc.

    - 230mm heavy battery (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=421568415)
    The largest turret that OKI has ever produced. This huge turret has no horizontal rotation limits and can elevate its 4 massive barrels up to +90 degrees. Fires in bursts of 4 shots.
    Battery is an ultimate capital ship/battlestation weapon that can punch through several layers of heavy armor (4 if all shots land in one place) in one burst. Turret is also pretty well armored and can withstand some punishment (thought not from 122mm or 230mm impacts).

    - OKI Tank and Mech weapons set (WIP! https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=431284577)
    This work in progress mod is aimed to provide players with 5 turrets for small ship block vehicles (tanks, rovers, hovers) and 4 gun-arms for mechs (each having two mount types - for left and right arms).

    Current mod already has a 122mm tank turret and 122mm mech cannon. Both working, but have no proper construction models yet.

    - OKI cargo ship expansion mod (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=420119159)
    This mod adds several new cargo ships (red ones that pass through your sector from time to time) that all use the weapons listed above (so you`ll need all the required sets listed on that mod`s page).

    All the ships that this mod provides are heavily armed with a mix of various OKI and vanilla guns. All of them carry some valuable loot and vary in size and type from a tiny gunship to a large destroyer and huge bulk freighter.

    This is a really nice way of displaying it. I didn't even know there was small ship variants and the like.

    I'd really love to potentially see a masterpack at some point in the future, grouping every one of your mods under one roof (So that I can include them on my server but only have the mod count go up by one. I'm selfish like that).

    Really good job, and really loving these things.

    Should make using your mods in worlds a lot easier. So far I use all your weapons.

    Wow. You`ve put a little bit of everything on that ship. Personally with two 230mm bats you wont be needing neither broadsides or 50mm support guns :)

    These are going to wreak some stuff. Fun will be had by many.

    Okim, it's an impressive and good looking collection you have made. A coherent style that, imo, fits well to the current visual style of the game :) keep it up!

    Is that a tripple barrel in the concepts? ;)

    As for the 3-b cannon - yeah, it is. It was, to be correct. Since I figured out that there is no way to make a 3-burst gun - I mage a unique 4-barreled version of my largest cannon.

    Yeah...they are definitely gone...dammit my entire ship consists of these..
    They where there last night for sure.
    Google search will take you to the page which steam then informs me is removed.

    I hope that it's a mistake of some kind - I really like the style and the balancing of the weapons and we use them quite often. But alas, that's the danger of using mods, I guess :-(

    Yeah, the strange thing is ALL of his weapon mods are gone. Maybe he is amalgamating thing down to a pack again. Or he took them down.
    I've seen it happen before when somebody takes a mod down because of people complaining in comments etc.
    We wont know until we hear something or it goes back up.

    I seriously hope it wasn't the latter, there aren't many turret mods I like, and especially none that fill the exact same roles that the Oki pack had carried. My roster was designed with these turrets in mind, I really hope they didn't actually get removed.

    This could be very good (new additions), or very bad (removal of the best collection of guns for SE). I am happy if they just come back again.

    One concern of mine is his steam forum activity focuses entirely on ARK Survival, and his last SE related post was about how he stopped using his server long ago...

    Has anyone tried messaging him? It would break my heart to see arguably the best weapon mod in SE just go away so suddenly.

    Ok I have the modfile with his weapons pack I just don't know if uploading it to Steam would be a good idea can we do that?

    Knowing that he hasn't pulled ALL his workshop items I'd say he has his reasons for that and those must be respected - reuploading his work without his consent is not only morally wrong but would probably be a breach of the steam TOS, I think.

    Well I'm gonna sit on my hands and wait then. If he straight abandoned his work and we get permission to use it I have it ready if we ever hear from him. If not I guess its time to start hunting for a replacement.

    If we end up needing a replacement then it's probably time for me to finally get off my rear and pick up my modeling programs again, reason being I have a feeling there really aren't any comparable packs currently. ...To think I stopped using them BECAUSE of SE being more fun to design things in. Problem is I have a feeling I'm not going to be able to remotely match the quality he had.

    Other mod devs have passed their work off to other people when the abandoned it. Hopefully OKIM will let someone like you or Mexpex take it over if he wont run it anymore.
